rj money owed: 3 years $42.4 mil

bobby simmons owed: 2 years $20.5

yi potential stud and makes them a TON of $$$ b/c of his global appeal.

nj's 2010 cap # will be around $18 mil...i guess that's one version of a lebron james 2010 plan...

Is it true? If it is, and that is the entire deal, New Jersey just got fleeced.

oohah

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

Great move--if they did not want bayless they still get their target player at 7+ additional pick. Looks like Clippers are taking Bayless at 4 and Seattle still gets their target of either Lopez or Westbrook. This is what happens when you hire a 38 YO GM from San Antonio

I don't like this move for the Clippers at all. I don't think this years pick is worth AN EXTRA pick. Ckippers just fleeced themselves. Very short sighted. I can see why the Nets made their move though.

Awesome move. Does this mean Redd is off the block? Sounds like a power move if you ask me.

Yo man.....I'm not gonna make it through the night.

I hate Jefferson but he is the heart and soul of the Nets. Thorn is definitely taking the Nets in a different direction.

Holy crap. I thought RJ could extract a bit more than that, though obviously Yi is still quite a nice prospect.

WTF? This seems a little weird. Why did he take on Simmons' contract? For Yi? He must think really highly of him.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Killer deal for New Jersey.

It's not about extracting talent it's about getting a young prospect and a contract that expires in time to go after you know who.

For the life of me why is it we can't understand the dynamic of trades and we always approach it from a perspective of who won and who lost?
