I'm pissed.....

Again.....why the **** would New Orleans just pawn off a pick.....they aren't a perfect team. They could have looked to packedge that pick to get a shooting guard or something.

Why does Portland need an extra draft pick? They are adding odom to a team that almost made the playoffs. They should be looking to get a vet to play the 3 or the point......

Fuck the nba!

What the hell is Walsh doing? He better be buying a pick above that one.

i thought that Portland had enough young players and were looking for vets now? maybe they are looking for picks to make some kind of bundle to trade for those vets.

Portland is going to use that pick in a package to either move up from 13 or for solid veteran help. Great move by Portland while Walsh sits on his old puppet ass.

Bingo!

or

It's compensation for them after they make a deal. They can walk away giving up a pick while still keeping one.

Aside from the 3 teams that will be the face of the West for the future (LA, Utah, NO), you have to consider Portland next if they really do package this pick that they're buying to move up or to get veteran help, preferably the ladder. They're going to be a major player in about another year, and could be very dangerous this year. And they already have the #1 pick in even this year's draft, Greg Oden. I think you could argue that he might have gone before Rose/Beasley.

They have like 1000 pics in this draft alone. I think this makes their total 6.

with paul allen's deep pockets...if oden turns out to be as good as people think, the blazer have just built themselves a 10+ year dynasty. unreal.

just my speculation...but their fans are talking like this is part of a package to get #5 or to replenish the bench after a major deal.

The latter train of thought is what I was thinking. They have a deal in place and probably are trying to shore up on the back end.

Agreed, although he still should have bought this pick even if he planned to buy a higher one. 1st rd picks are good assets.

All of you are saying "Get on it Walsh" yet you don't know if he's already getting on it. Still a day and a half left, I can't take it anymore.

paul allen has alot of money...so does dolan.

but the team would rather spend $32 mil on jalen rose to get #21 instead of paying $3 mil to get #27. nuts.
