are u hearing all this about diddy buying the knicks? at first i figured it was another way to just bring has name back to the surface of tabs and papers, but even espn is reporting his attempt to purchase the knicks when he was announcing it on howard stern today. god let this happen, if he buys the team it would be in better hands then any other owner in the league(even cuban). he's a fan #1 and priority #1 would be winning, i'm sure he's disgusted seeing how his team his gone down falling past embarrassing and approaching laughing stock of the nba, (specially cause its new york i mean comon sh-t! the franchise has never sucked this bad)

Oh, It's sucked badly before...Just some cats were too young to know...THere's a reason we got the #1 in 85...

And we'll be right back in the running for that #1 pick again well before 2005.

Start watching college ball, everyone. Time to figure out who we can get when we dominate the lottery ping-pong ball machine next year.

I know for a fact that if P. Diddy buys the Knicks, Scott LayDown will be out on his ***.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

P-diddy knows how to make music but that don't guarantee he can turn around a basketball team just by getting rid of good character ball players.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

At this rate, I'd take him over Scott "The Genius" LayDown and Doh!-Lan.

Puff buying the Knicks is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. First of all, Stern won't let this happen. Puff doesn't know jack about hoops, plus the The NBA doesn't want an owner who might kick another owners a** at a meeting.

What's up with this "Puff doesn't know anything about B-ball" path of thought. I dont think he is going to make himself GM, and even in the off chance that he did, he couldn’t do a worse job then Layden even if he tried.

Even though I am not the biggest P.Diddy fan in the world, you cant front on the guy…He is pretty versatile…Music, Restaurants, Clothes, he’s a smart guy. I don’t see how he would be any less successful then Cuban…Young owner injecting some crazy youthful energy into a fallen franchise. Every young exciting ballplayer would want to come and play for the Knicks!! (Young talent in an NY uniform??) And don’t play yourself, Stern would love it, not only would it create a serious buzz for the league and further carve the youth market niche for the NBA, but face it, the Knicks being pathetic like they are is doing nothing but hurting the league…He must be pulling out the few strands of hair left over the fact that NJ is in the finals every year and is the East’s best team

I would just love to see the look on Puff’s face to find out that he is paying 80 million dollars to Shandon Anderson and Howard Eisely alone…Classic

I cant get to excited, at this point it just seems like so pie in the sky talk from a heartbroken Knicks fan, albeit with a lot of paper.

Tha cat is worth over a half billion dollars. Worse-caser scenario, he could always get a group together like Jordan did.

Its not about making music, and he isn't going to go out and get the players HIMSELF. Playa, think before you post. It will save you much torment from the other ppl here and save me the trouble of correcting your "below-par" posts.

As Flex said, he is interested in BUYING the Knicks. This means he will OWN THEM. He will hire ppl to RUN the team and find the talent, not do it HIMSELF. They will be better ppl more suited for the organization b/c if P Diddy owns it, he wants to make money off of it. He WILL NOT ACCEPT second-best like Dolan is now. He will be the Steinbrenner of the NBA, as I said in another thread.

This will also mean mean getting a GM that actually CARES about the moves he makes and gets TALENT not wastes of space and cap room. That is a day EVERY Knick fan hopes for.

(Including you Playa...at least I hope you wish for it like the rest of us, with all that pro-Allan Houston talk you promote around here, who knows....AH is the damn Cancer of the Knicks organization, while Laydown is the herpes....)

AND I GUARANTEE this: If he buys the Knicks, the first two ppl out on their butts are Laydown and Allan Houston. Maybe Chaney if he doesn't shape up.

Allan will be out when his contract is up - Puffy or no puffy.

While I believe this to be true, my friend, we can hope, can't we?

I mean if Diddy gets the team, ANYTHING is possible right?

ABSOLUTELY TRUE. Without hope , there can be no sport.

I just don't want to trade Allan for a longer contract, thereby elongating the already excruciating waiting process. I want to be able to go shopping one day. Like The kind of shopping LA did to get Shaquille. And ya gotta save up if you want to go shopping.

I believe even the Knick brass can learn from 4 years of mistakes...but even they know that it's more likely that they must weather the cap-storm they've created. Better to 'over -achieve' with 'Houston's' team, keeping a competitive vibe for the sake of the rookies...while drafting the best possible talent...then, when Allan walks off the books, we say goodbye and go shopping for the next franchise.

puff is many things but he is an entrapreneur first. he knows the franchise, run the RIGHT way, will make money and probably save the nba in the process. to own one of the most storied franchise not only in the nba but in the world of sports is a worthy challenge. and i said it as well as others that a passionate fan like puff would lead the knicks out of this dump. like cuban, he will use every facet whether it is publicity stunts ( dairy queen?) or exposure to make this team an exciting place to play. then we won't see free agents not returning the our gm's call.

This thread is cracking me up. "Yeah man, all the young players will want to come play for diddy!" Hysterical junk like that is usually posted by the same guys who say we should trade the whole team for Shaq.
Let me be more clear. David Stern and the rest of the owners are not going sell an NBA team to guy who is just as likely to be make great business deals as he is likely to get arrested shooting someone in nightclub. Did he shot someone? It doesn't matter the point is the NBA is a business and they don't need the players AND owners on trail. Damn! Mark Cuban is not going to be arrested for anything except wearing shirts that are too tight!

Who the hell did Puffy shoot? Get ya facts straight, please. That man knows how to make money, and can turn the Knicks into a lucrative cash cow. At the same time his name WILL help bring players here, which will end up helping us WIN. Dammit, he CARES, and that's what we need. Mark Cuban is no better than him. Most players in the NBA know who he is and what he's capable of, which is a far cry from Dolan's backwards ***.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!
