Briggs I agree with that trade. Do you trade Lee to Minnesota to swap places with them?

yes because Ronnie Brewer & a #18 is clearly worth giving up our #6 for over cap space in 2010 & a #16.

oh brother.

i agree - i don't think it's as good a trade as the ZBO to philly scenario. I don't think i'd do either though.

if we can't trade up to get OJ Mayo, then go for the capspace.

This is the only TYPE of scenario that I would trade the pick for--for a rising proven talent and another pick.

There is NO F way I would give one thought of spending MY assets[thinking for the owners side] on Zach randolph--rather i would contact David Stern and begin a termination process for conduct detrimental to the NBA and the NY knicks. If I end up settling for .50 then I have the cap space anyway. An arbitrator is not going to side with Zach 100% on anything. He has clearly violated his contract multiple times.

i just don't see ronnie brewer as a starter. and it'll be hard to draft a starter at #18. i think we need to come away from this draft with someone who can be starting for us in two years. the best chance of that is at #6. unless we can move up or trade for a starter, i'd rather just sit tight.

I want to take pick 6 as well. But if the Knicks are going to cry over development time of any player--this is the only *type* of route I would go. Remember Ronnie Brewer lead the NBA for FG % for 2Gs and is a great defensive player and all of 23.

like nyk said it's a moot point anyway cuz the Philly GM obviously isn't interested in doing it... i like that SAC trade idea for Miller & the #12 tho, but i doubt SAC would do it.

isn't ronnie Brewer another one of those, defensive types who can't shoot a lick.... why move down 12 spots for that?

Brewer can't shoot the three ball well but he is very efficient with his shots (he shot 56% from the field last season). He's definitely not one of those guys that just plays D and doesn't contribute anything on offense. He is a nice player on the rise.

Personally, I'd rather stay at 6 right now then do something like this but I don't think this is a bad idea at all. If you like a player a lot that will be there at pick 18, I think this is a smart deal to make.

Lol. So out of your top 15 (with the dropoff occurring at 13, who do you pick at 18? There is a good likelihood that someone drops to 18, but nothing is certain.

At 18, you'd go for an athletic big man, like Javale McGee or Jason Thompson.

Yeah I wouldn't do this deal.

I'd rather trade the 6th pick for the nets 10th and Marcus Williams. Point guard for Mike D going into his third season so he should be ready to contribute plus a good player should be at 10.... maybe even Randolph.

i thought this was a 1-6 draft & we're sitting at #6... but of course it makes sense to move down in this manner to go after an elite talent like Ronnie Brewer... BRIGGS, BRIGGS, BRIGGS.

I don't want to trade the pick---I said that this would be the only acceptable scenario to the alternative--a trade where we get an up and coming young proven talent + a pick. Talking to yourself on the zoneforums may have effected your eyesight --try glasses:)
