Everyone that lived in that era talks of how relentless he was on the court. Dave was a mofo.

David Lee with a jumpshot and defense, lol.

All jokes aside David Lee has that Debusschere motor where it seems he gets crazy the more tired and sweaty he looks. It would be nice to have a good group of players and coach on a team where david Lee can just do his thing. With the Knicks in limbo now Lee can't be looked at as an untouchable.

Allan will always get credit for 1999. Bernard will always get the respect due from fans and his peers.

Ewing, Oakley and Starks were just gangsters. How often did Ewing have to put the team on his back on both ends of the court at the same time? How often did he just make shot after shot with the defense all in his mug? Sacrificing his knees, his body his heart? Starks played with the heart of NY. He did everything we would have did. He played like he was defending the whole city. Oakley was always the first one up in the middle of every altercation. He was the one who jumped in to stop the ball. He dove on the floor for loose balls. He flung his body into other players to protect the basket. He had a 2 inch verticle.

Where in the nba are there warriors like this?

No harm no foul man.

It would be nice to get more than a bland general statement.

Like to me mentioning sprewell and LJ just brings back so much emotion. Everyone remembers the 4 pt play and Sprees heroics......but individually where are you coming from?

To me it was their willingness to take on guys they weren't supposed to. LJ played and scored on guys that towered over him. Sliding, pivoting, pump fakes, fade aways.....he was simply a monster. His personality was off the scale. He rallied the troops, he was vocal in the huddle and on the court. The team fed off him. He played hurt, and he gained weight and lost weight depending on whether he was gonna be the starting 3 coming into a season or the 4. He was a ****in warrior.

Sprewell played in attack mode. He was always on his ****. He didn't stop attacking the rim whether it was a runner, or one of his trademark tomahawk dunks. He went hard on defense. He pushed the rock. He was always attacking. He always played on the cusp of madness. He shut his mouth about guarding the guy Houston couldn't. He didn't bitch about being forced to play the 3 when he clearly was a natural 2 guard. He just showed up and balled out hardcore. He was a muthafukin warrior.

There are alot of guys who haven't been mentioned. Xavier McDaniel, Mark Jackson, Doc Rivers, Gangsta Greg Anthony, Anthony Mason, Anthony Bonner, Terry Cummings. I will never forget when X said that you could put him in a locked room with the entire Bulls team and that he would be the only to walk out.

Personally i would never put greg anothony in as a warrior. I thought he sucked and never had the heart of a champion.

X-man was a crazy dude. Between him Oakley and Mason? They had Pippen scared to drive. They had Mike and pip jumping for joy when they did manage to score in the paint. Gangstas! Its not a game man it was war.

Mark aguirre, rodman, isiah, dumars, vinnie, laimbeer, edwards, etc.....warriors!

Robert horry, horace grant, mario elie, brian shaw, etc......where are these players now in todays nba?

To me, Oakley was the penultimate warrior. He brought his blue collar work ethic to the boards every night and he let the league know that there were no free layups.

The only guy who reminds me of that mentality in the NBA today is Ben Wallace. But Big Ben cannot hit an open jump shot, where Oaks was like a knife through warm butter.

I always thought a guy like Chris Wilcox (at least when he was in college) could come to the Knicks and adopt that mentality and role. Wilcox is soft though.

It looked like Sweetney could be that guy, but he was too doughboyish.

You know I gonna spin wit it

i can't believe none o'yall mentioned my man Charlie Ward... i don't think u gotta be a brash tough guy or behave demonstratively on the floor like Spree, Oak or Mace in order to be a warrior... Charlie Ward was a quiet, unassuming guy but damn, he was a tough little mofo w/a ton of heart, & what he lacked in talent he made up for in the way he hustled his butt off on the court... IMO i would love for Nate to pick up on some of that & become a leader on this team one day... i think he has it in him to be a warrior, if he ever learns how to control that damn temper of his.

JVG was a work a holic, rose from nowhere to become a wealthy elite coach, and would run his tiny ass on the floor. Grab Alonzo's large leg, or get in between a camby punch, the man had spunk!

Scott Skiles was intense as a player. He went after Shaq (his teammate).

Must include Mentally tough which takes Spree out of the equation for me. Stupidity and being irrational take you down. Starks was an emotional player and a great athlete, but his defining moment he did not get it done. Many forget his lack of dedication. He spoke the words but actions (grandmaGate, GolfClubGate) were black marks against him.

On the court being clutch is being a warrior. guys like Reggie Miller who win games at the last second are tough SOB's.

I'll put LJ cuz he was clutch and worked hard, as of course Ewing. Bernard King was excellent as he went from being a young punk to a consumate professional on and off the court. His preparation to his body was fantastic.

Larry Brown, not as a knick. He did a **** job here, but he got NCAA, Olympic gold (starting pt)and NBA champiionship on his belt. That takes toughness!

Phil Jax as a player was tough, sacrificed his scoring, and is the greatest coach of all time.

Oak is a warrior, but a bit over rated.

Chris Dudley. Had no offense but got a 7 mil a year contract to be ewings back up and played hard. Took a beating for the team and got the job done.

clyde kept his emotions in check and let his game talk. A true warrior.

Charlie Ward was a warrior on a crusade. He got a lot out of his talent.

Sweetney, never mind!
