i'm biased. he's my favorite pg in the league.

but i advocate the knicks trading the #6 pick to get him.

malik + #6 for tj + #17

he's getting better every year as a player and if put in charge of d'antoni's system, he will become a near allstar. don nelson called him the closest thing to nash in the league.

yes he has injury issues but anybody the knicks pick at 6 will have risks as well as there's no proven commodity out there.

interdivision deals of this magnitude don't happen unless a team is getting bent over (toronto for vince) but i think this is THE guy to lead the knicks w/ d'antoni.

the knicks would have to make sure they have a high quality backup pg just in case...

heck...may even win be back as a fan.

Go back to Toronto.

I dunno about Ford. He's seems to be a hard hit away from paralysis.

knicks could still take a quality player at #17 (like CDR).

nope.

only other deals that could be discussed are:

dlee + malik for tj
crawford for tj

Don't forget Curry for Ford.

There is no shot in hell that I trade the 6th pick for Ford with his condition. I love the kid and love him as a player, but you don't give up assets for someone who can break, literally, in the next play.

I Like TJ Ford also but not for the 6th Pick in the draft, Why not just pick a player with no injury issues and try to sign a PG.

which high caliber pg is readily available?

d'antoni w/o a pg = not good.

i think you can get a guy at 17 that could be as good as a guy at 6 in this draft.

but you also have the option of moving UP from 17 to the low teens by throwing in cash.

tj + 17 for malik + 6
marbury + 17 for jermaine + 11

you walk away from this draft with tj + jermaine + 11 for marbury + malik + 6...

You do what Danny Ainge did. You draft one giving up the lottery pick to dump salary. If you come up with a way to acquire while dumping salary and allow us to draft a point guard (Augustin) then fine.

Man Isiah could have drafted us a PG last year instead of picking Balkman.

Wow DJ, you say I gave up to little for calderon, but maybe you are giving up too much for Ford.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

I'd rather pick up Sergio Rodrgiquez, or Jose Juan Barea for cheap. I think the Knicks as an organization are at a point where they should look mostly to only make low risk potentially high pay off moves.
