The rumors are out there... three way deal that banishes Spree to Spurs and brings Van Horn here... of course, Sixers need to get a player and SA doesn't want to trade Duncan best friend, Malik Rose... hmmm. All I can say is... I hope it happens...

1) Spree gets to play with defending champions and obviously gets shot to win. Good for him after watching Layden run this team into the ground.

2) Would get to play his natural (2) position. Some fools around here never seem to understand how unselfish this guy has been playing out of position. Getting banged around for years playing against players forty pounds heavier, it obviously took its toll, yet never a complaint.

3) Speaking of complaints, I'll be glad to not have to endure the ridiculous criticism of Latrell around here. He'll be gone and I imagine most (except of course PLAYA) will let the scapegoatitis go. Man, I've had enough... most popular player on team my a large multiple... gets absolutely crucified and I'm sick of it.

Of course with Van Horn, we'll be even less tough. Oakley would roll over in his grave... basketball playing grave that is...

WHO CARES?
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Amen, Pike

Amen. Playing his natural position on a team with a REALISTIC chance at the title could spark the fire under his áss and get him to elevate his game again.

The thing is, Pike, that people are so enamored of the idea of a better Small Forward than Latrell, they forget HE'S NOT A SMALL FORWARD!! Sure there are better SF's than he, but I'd have paid good money to see him at the 2 and the larger, stronger Housless at the 3.

pike: I agree and all I have to say is that if this deal goes through, SA will have eclipsed the moves LA made with Payton and malone. The spurs IMO were flawed at the SG spot. Sprewell contrary to most fools ideas, is still in his prime, and still can play at a very high level, the spurs will be even tougher with spree...

I agree necrom33. Spree should have been slated at the 2 spot and Allan at the 3. Allan is a much taller player and a lot slower than Spree. Layden should understand this and get a PF and Center that can rebound to hide the teams deficiencies. Unfortunately, tall and/or strong PF and centers with a nasty disposition died when Oak lost his game. Where are the Oakleys, Buck Williams, Michael Cages, Dennis Rodmans of the world. We are producing tall SFs in PF and Centers bodies.

With that said, it's time to trade Spree.

Hey! I thought this was all rhetoric. Is there a deal rumored or in the works?

Ares, I am not looking individually at Spree VS Malone and Payton. I am looking at the impact or fit on their respective teams. SA can and has already beaten LA and SA has done this with decent players at SG. As spree who can play at a much higher level on both ends of the floor, if this move happens, I think LA will have even a harder time beating SA...

holla...... SLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAM!!!!

Just like the rest of you I hope spree gets traded. NOt because he is old and useless. To spite NY management for not keeping players with heart that want to be here. Have you ever seen a team with good player that have no desire. Just look at the clippers. Ny management always trades the player that give 100% and keep the players that give way less. I know lately spree sometimes look like he is slacking but have you ever played on a team with people who don't care, you tend to pick up their dirty habits. anyway the point of this post is that i hope spree goes to sa and does great and when he comes back to town he gives it to NY like camby did. Thank you

How can you say Payton is still in his prime? The man is 35 years old! I'm starting to worry about you, ARES.

Seriously, he's still productive but, NOT in his prime.

the man has extende his prime by staying in fantastic shape,35 means a lot less than when you played sports in the 50's

i mean siple common sense tells you that as age 35 gary payton is one of the top point guards on any night in the NBA, and on most nights he is the best point guard.

you want to explain to me how Barry bonds is out his prime cause he is 40, i will take a guy out his prime like bonds and payton any day,.

I guessyou like a in prime 2o something howard Eisley?

Never worry about me i always know more than you.

HAHA... sensitive, are we?

I'd take Bonds and Payton on my side too... but, Payton is slowing down somewhat. Keep in mind, Bonds is going to AL after his contract runs out so he can break Aaron's record. Much of Payton's game is quickness and speed and Glove can't DH in the NBA... as far as you always knowing more than me... that's debatable but, I didn't know there was a competition.
