Assuming Mayo is gone:

1) Anthony Randolph
2) Westbrook (I wont be that dissapointed if we pick him over Randolph)
3) Galinari (When I saw his clips, I was thinking Keith Van Horn (When he's good) and Allan Houston. He looks like a good player.

I would also like to trade for another pick and see if we can manage to get CDR. A long shooting guard is something we haven't had since Allan, and that's what we need.

Mayo and Bayless gone:

1. Anthony Randolph
2. Westbrook (love him, but don't know if he's a fit in D'Antoni's system yet)
3. Galinari (love his attitude, I think he has the makeup to succeed in NY)

Westbrook (outside of DRose) is the best athlete & best transition player in the draft. yeah, he fits with D'antoni.

D'Antoni likes his guards to be good shooters though, which Westbrook isn't, at least not yet.

I just wanna see it go down just like this:

1) Trade up to get Bayless to be our quarterback.

--OR--

2) Trade down with Portland to get Sergio Rodriguez and pick #13 (turn that pick into JaVale McGee).

--THEN--

3) Acquire addition picks for guys with promise, preferably a 2 with size and versatility that can shoot (Shan Foster, Josh Shipp, JR Giddens --- if we landed one of these guys, no need for Westbrook at #6 (who I think is a fine player but a waste of a pick at #6 with Crawford, Robinson & Collins already on the roster --- we could get something very similar if we could purchase a low 1st/early 2nd rounder from someone).

4) Continue to shed contracts/Don't use the MLE on anyone.

or even 3 or 4 years for that matter... 2 year deals at most unless we can unload 1 of our bad longterm contracts.

i have the same 3 players in my sights, but in no specific order... i don't mind if Walsh takes any of those guys over the other... maybe trade down to nab 1 if he can & get the most value out of the #6, or even trade up to get someone like Bayless or Mayo if he can.

I know and you're right - Let's just hope that the day of throwing the entire 5-year MLE at marginal NBA talent is over. But my not wanting to even bother with the MLE for the time being has as much to do with not wanting to add anymore salary as it does with a lack of roster spots. If we went out and did exactly what I want which is add Bayless or Sergio Rodriguez, JaVale McGee along with a Shan Foster or a JR Giddens where's the extra roster spot for a JR Smith with the MLE?? That's a concern even if we unloaded Eddy Curry & David Lee. See what I'm saying. Stand pat with the MLE for now and concentrate on getting the most you can out of this draft....

Agreed. Westbrook doesn't seem like a D'Antoni player.

With that said:
1. Randolph
2. Gordon
3. Javale McGee
