We saw their stats!
We saw some of the college games!
We looked at Youtube videos!
And we read some articles about each player and their accomplishments!

How's about a perspective from the scouts now?

I found this list over at hoops. I re-typed the information, making it simpler to read.

In typing all of this information, I have become very acquainted with each players abilities and now feel better informed about each prospect.

Here are some of the strengths and weaknesses of each player. I hope this informs you in your decision on who you think we should draft.

Enjoy!

Here are some of my own personal thoughts.

I have a little bit of a problem, having so many Freshman at the top of the list. I don't think it's healthy to judge talent, on so little experience.

I'd be very happy if we drafted one of these guys:
Brook Lopez
Kosta Koufos
Jerryd Bayless
DeAndrew Jordan
DJ Augustine
Kevin Lowe
Chris Douglas Roberts
Courtney Lee

I definately think we need another draft pick, without sacrificing David Lee.

I feel that there is too much talent (potential) to pass up here.

I am most interested in this kid Koufos. This kid is an incredible shooter, for a freshman and his size. I think he's gonna be a big catch, if we don't try for him now.

I noticed how on Derrick Rose's strengths they don't get too specific as to what he does as a point guard. Basically touching on what his physical individual attributes are. Pretty much a Guard write up and not a point guard write up. Notice the contrast between his and Augustin's strengths as a point guard.

The youtube clips of Danlio Gallinari are pretty convincing. He looks like a (younger) Tyler Hansbrough with more and smarter moves and a decent outside shot. For the right team, he's a keeper.

It was tough to take him off of my list. I may have to reconsider. Ending up as a role player was kind of a turn off for me.

There's probably not much to go on, other than his 'off the chart' potential and the fact that he didn't really bloom, not until the playoffs came along. Overall, his potential is much better than all the other guards, but at the same time, some of these guards are going to be much better than him, in some' strengths.

You'd still have to take Rose over them though.

Here's a nice Danlio Gallinari mix:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=RUSeW8X0GWo&feature=related

It's hard to tell from short clips but if you watch one of game clips, it looks like he's a little show on defense but a generally fine player. He's not as good as, say, Odom but he's only 19. However, to the extent that Odom is a role player, it looks like Gallinari, yes, might end up a role player. I can't see him dominating but I don't think, based on those, clips that he's a project. He looks like an upgrade on David Lee and while he might not start on a good team, he'll be a solid bench player. I'm not sure I see anyone better for the Knicks on the board.

When you pull a Youtube video (via address bar), place it on your desktop screen. Come back to this page. In the quick reply box below, you'll have to activate it with anything, to get to the next box. Use any letter and hit 'preview'. When you get to the next box, you'll see a Youtube button. Erase the letter that you put in and then hit the Youtube button. You see two (youtube)(youtube) quote symbols.

Space the Youtube quote symbols from the middle like this (youtube) (youtube), so when you drag the video off of your desktop, and in between the two marks, you won't have trouble finding the center. So drag and drop the video in between them and hit preview again, to make sure it sticks and it plays. Now hit reply. Whalla!

It would be best to do it on the 'testing forum' that you'll find on the forum index. Also, try not to post too many videos. I think it plays havoc on Martin and Andrews system. LOL
I'll never trust this' team again.

Gets to basket extremely well
Has strength to score, even with contact

WEAKNESSES
Has tendency to over-do things at times, particularly with decision making in half court
Loses focus and is still inconsistent as a floor general
Possesses poor shooting mechanics, particularly off the dribble
No mid-range game
Gets in the passing lane defensively, but lack of size hurts his NBA potential

12.7 ppg, 5.2 apg, 2.7 rpg

Ooops! Correction

As you can see, Lee' has gotten very little press. He could be a major find for someone.

I'm a little weary of Lawson's size. The last thing we need is another under six foot player. We definately need to get taller and bigger, no doubt.

I am 'tard! Sorry about that.

Thanks, 4949.

It's not just my stooopids that are causing the problem. Alas, there's a Safari issue that I didn't see at first. However, your instructions work with Firefox. Next time, I'll try in the practice area first.
