So should we be looking for old school type players? Because a lot of these guys talk of and play like old school.
I'll never trust this' team again.

i think we should be targetting guys who know how to play basketball... & i'm not trying to be a smart ass here... i don't want any more project players... i want a guy who can step in & make an impact & know where the hell he's supposed to be on the floor instead of looking around twiddling his thumbs on offense & waiting for a wide open lane to the rim to dunk on somebody.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

The new coach has 30 minute practices, doesn't coach defense, and his way to get players to play hard is to treat them like men. Good luck.

Okay, but he still won 50 plus a season, with a handful of very good players and Nash it's only real star. To me, he's doing something right. He should be able to get at least 30 win (minimum) for the next few years, with the current team we have now. Which would mean they actually have a roof that would be much higher than the last three years, under chicago-isiah.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Shawn Marion, Amare Stoudamire, Grant Hill, Joe Johnson, Leonardo Barbosa, etc. I don't think you can say Nash was his only real star.

Posted by CrushAlot: See how Marion does without a pass first PG. His game is suspect. Stoudamire is an athletic beast. Grant Hill has not been a star since he left Detroit. Joe Johnson is a decent player, not a star. Barbosa still is too soon to tell. Nash. Marion and Stoudamire are all better than any player on the Knicks over the last 6 years. The rest are decent players that you are over emphasizing to sell your point. 4949 is only saying that he can win at least 30 with the current roster. Either way, some fundamental basketball skills could go far for this team. But, I cannot understand how people say this team doesn't have any talent. That is just patently untrue. Executives around the league acknowledge the level of ability on this team, its just that our talent comes in the form of bad contracts and questionable personalities. The team lacks chemistry. Perhaps the new management can create a different environment to change that. Either way, some players got to go. You know I gonna spin wit it

He won 55 games with Nash, House, Barbosa, Bell, Marion, James Jones, Tim Thomas, Boris Diaw & Kurt Thomas.
The way I see it, D'Antoni's is apart of Walsh master plan to make the knicks exciting, entertaining again and build up the value in the players like Crawford, Randolph, Curry, Richardson, Robinson, Chandler, Lee, Balkman. If we could win 38 dare I say 40 games next season while players like Crawford, Randolph & some of these other guys have stellar seasons then Walsh might be able to make some magic happen turning over the roster. https://vote.nba.com/en Vote for your Knicks.

Bowen in his video forgot to show how he make players twist their ankles landing on his foot.

Guys do alot that they can't show. Isiah was famous for kicking the guy he was defending in the ankles. Alot of guys pull shorts and Oak used to pull Horace Grants glasses off.

I once saw Isaiah punch Mark Price in the the chest when he was driving to the basket. What kind of fundamental is that?

It's time to get rid of the players who have proven during the entire length of their NBA careers that they refuse to learn the fundamentals of basketball.
These aren't kids. You don't show them some film, kick them in the ass a few times, and expect greatness to be learned. They already learned. They're done learning. They're done listening. They're done caring. What did they learn? How to be fat spoiled arrogant prima donna millionaire hacks who play uninspired one dimensional and-1 chucker streetball. Get rid of them....enough with the dream of them being young and impressionable and hungry to grow. It doesn't exist. http://popcornmachine.net/ A must-use tool for NBA stat junkies!

Ira, there has always' been dirty tricks and players in the NBA. I was watching a game between Philly and chicago years ago. A foul was called and one of the players, Charles Barkley lined up on the side and as he and a bull were standing there next to each other, with their hands on their knees, catching a few breaths, Barkley waited for the refs to turn away. He very simple put one hand up and gently shoved the player in the face, standing next to him.
The player stood up facing Barkely, then shoved him backwards, kind of hard. By this time the refs were facing towards the players and the bull got caught pushing Barkley. He got called for a technical foul and somehow Barkley ended up shooting two shots for free. That's 'old school'. Great stuff! The whole stadium saw it. The local television network saw it. Everyone knew about it, except the fefs. And that's where it counted the most. It's little tricks like that, that make the difference of a few extra points and not having those few extra points. Most NBA fights break out because of things like that. So along with learning and working hard at fundamentals, old school type plays should go along with a players play. Of course you don't want to punch people in the chest and badly injure anyone. You just want your player to develop an edge. One that only frustrates, but doesn't seriously injure. Barkley used to do things like that a long time ago. He used to crack me up with the plays he would do. Although he was also a very good player, fundamentally, and talent wise, I never really liked him much for his big mouth though. I think our young guys should talk to the old players, to see what they can learn. I don't think we have that in the Garden. And Cosmic, you are so right about not listening, not caring, not learning, being fat, spoiled, arrogant prima donna millionairs, who play uninspired basketball. You are sooooo right about that. We definately lack fundamentals and some old school. I'll never trust this' team again.

4949, do you remember the time Oakley beat Barkley up in a pre-season game and then Barkley got him back by humiliating him by scoring a ton of points on him early that same season? It happened when Barkley was playing for Houston, but I don't remember which year.
