i asked this question twice & it seems no one has an answer... maybe it just wasn't seen... or maybe y'all were too busy jumping out of your windows after the Knicks landed the #6 pick in the draft lottery...

anyway i wanna try & gauge Beasley's upside potential... how do you guys rate him as a prospect coming out of college in comparison to Kevin Durant last year? better? worse? similar? what's the dillio?

I already gave an answer. It's hard to tell. One didn't live up to the hype so far and one has no NBA experience. How can anyone compare?
I'll never trust this' team again.

I'll go ahead and say Beasley will be the better pro because of his size. Durant came to the league very skinny/lanky and probably still very much is, while Beasley will come to the league with an NBA ready frame. Like Durant, he can score at will, but his rebounding abilities will give him the clear cut edge.

I think Beasely is a better prospect coming into the pro's than Durant was.

While Beasely didn't have the team success that someone like Durant had in college, he had very similar numbers and his body is much much more adept to coming into the NBA and having an immediate impact.

Durant had a nice year as a rookie, but he walked into a team that just traded away all their vets and had no goto option on offense, so he was able to slide right into that role as a rookie. When you look at the Bulls and the Heat, they both have pretty good offensive teams (when healthy) and Beasely won't be afforded the same option that Durant had, so I think his rookie season will be a bit more quiet, but very effective. He's got a great body to play downlow in the pro's and he should have a very solid career.

it just seems Durant was so much more highly hyped when he came into the draft last year... i heard comparisons w/KG for crying out loud... i said it before & i still say he looks more like a Rashard Lewis if u ask me.

do u think Beasley has the goods to be the next KG or no?

From a stats perspective, yes. KG is a 20 and 11 guy for his career. Beasley may be able to surpass that. But one thing I highly doubt Beasley will surpass KG in is his drive and love for the game, even though KG will most likely join Ewing, Malone, and Barkley as a great to never win one.

KG's got a very solid chance this year. What he needs most is for Ray Allen to wake up.

Yeah I do... he's not going to be as good of a defensive player as KG, but I think his offensive game is already on par with Garnett's. I doubt he's as good of a passer either.

Honestly TMS, everything about Beasely is offensive. He's a beast of an athlete so of course he has the ability to be a real good shotblocker, but I haven't seen it.

They need to wake up on the road more than anything. Until they win 1 road game, I can't take them serious. If Detroit wins game 2 in Boston, they're in deep trouble.
