Nets may pursue Melo and/or Camby and have the assets to get a deal done. If Melo is moved you have to believe that's where he lands

Orlando Magic may pursue Corey Maggette

Calderon definitely wants to start

Artest may seriously opt out if he doesn't get an extension

Jackson will be the first to interview in Phx

I tell you what.......the Nets definately have some serious firepower as far as assets. They could trade richard jefferson for Melo.....they could possible get anyone in the league they want. They have countless quality young guys. Watch out!

It's toxic especially when the teammate you played with makes it known what his preference is throughout the season and the first to open his mouth at the conclusion of the playoffs. I don't like what Calderon is doing, and feel he doesn't need to say a thing. There's close to 15 teams who'd want him as a starter. He should let the matters take of themselves. When T.J. spoke after the playoffs ended about the issue and in so many words said "yeah Calderon can PROBABLY start in this league somewhere else but I'm the point guard for this team", was classless IMHO. Basically "yeah Calderon had a good yr but I'm better than him, let him go start on some other team." Now Calderon has T.J.itis and essentially is saying I don't want to play with the Diva. And once again T.J. does have a history of grandstanding and creating a divided locker room this very thing happened in Milwaukee after the season ended in 2005 when Harris consulted about the team with Redd and Mo Williams another point guard in which TJ. had to share duties with, Harris decided to trade him. One thing Calderon has going for him is the camaraderie and chemistry of the foreign players.

Oh well it's JC's issue to sort out since he's on record as saying Calderon would be signed and will be their off-season priority.

How about Josh howard for Artest trade in the off season.

New Mavericks coach and former Indiana coach Rick Carlisle gave a Marv Albert-like "Yes!" when asked if he would coach the 28-year-old Artest again

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Artest to Dallas makes sense. Sadly Josh Howard to sactown doesn't......I think Josh Howard and John Salmons are similiar players.

Eny Salmons played his best when bibby was out and he played pg.

I don't see howard and Salmons being similar players.

Salmons can play pg and sg and be effective.

which is why I say we need to build a good team and stockpile good young player and win some games. Far more important than cap space IMO

Bingo.....but I thought I was the only one that observed that. Salmons is a soldier. He can play this game anyway you need him to. He's also one of my absolute favorite players.

I was gonna post this trade, but didn't wanna get ass raped....zach for salmons and kenny thomas......salmons has 3 years....kenny has 2. Zach has 3. I think its a good trade. Kenny is still a good player, but Salmons is tailor made for D'antoni.

His name is always in rumors......if someone has been rumored to be traded for like 5 years then it has to have some kinda truth.

I would trade any one except Lee and craw for camby. He's also one of my all time favorites....

Yo man we just need to get all my favorite players up in this piece!

You forget how they got their good young players. They had a hall-of-fame older player who they traded in a very lopsided deal for them.

We would never be in the Nets situation, because we have never had Jason Kidd to offer in trade.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

No one really fears the Nets not with the coach they have. He sucks.

Looks like tomorrow could seal the deal on a Nugget/Net trade
Do Nets Have Shot At Carmelo?
May 19, 2008 - 10:19 am
The Record -
The Nets are crossing their fingers for a miracle during Tuesday's NBA Draft Lottery in hopes that a high pick could yield them Carmelo Anthony, according to The Record (New Jersey).

Multiple league sources have said that the Nuggets and Nets are discussing a blockbuster trade that would send Anthony and Marcus Camby to New Jersey in exchange for a package that includes Richard Jefferson, Marcus Williams, Keith Van Horn's contract and New Jersey's lottery pick.

The Nets have a 1.1 percent chance of landing the top overall pick, and just a 4 percent shot at falling in the top three.

"You're always looking to do something to make some sense," Nets president Rod Thorn said. "If something presented itself that we felt could really help us,. then we might look to move either or both of our picks. But right now it appears to me we'll stay with at least the 10th pick and probably the 21st also."

Thorn is tipping his hand some here especially towards the end. Looks like his boy Kiki has the crack cooking in the pot on the stove yet again.

Harris
Carter
Melo
Williams/Boone
Camby

That team would be kind of freakishly nasty.

If this happens, I am just gonna become a Clippers fan.
