In this system--you need players who can do a multitude of things with speed athletic ability. There is a player named JR Giddens who wouldve easily made this team in this system and couldve been available in the low 1s high 2s. Since we can spend some cash--maybe we can buy a late number 1 and snag Giddens. If you want to compare someone to Shawn Marion--JR Giddens is very close.

Can't we just sign D. Nichols again? He is long and can run and shoot...

Does Nicholls have a 40 inch vertical long arms a great motor speed and average a double double in college from the guard position? This is the type of ballplayer this system requires speed athletic ability to be able to play bigger than you are with long arms and a quick jump three point shot explosion--Nicholls was suited to play in a halfcourt system--this guy is way UNDErated right now and is perefct for this system. He avarged nearly the same numbers as Danny Granger on the same team.

Throwing away that 2nd round pick was a horrible decision the second Isiah made the trade with no obvious spot on the roster for whoever was selected.

For a second there, I thought you guys where talking about something current. I didn't even think isiah was a second thought anymore. A new day has arrived. Time to forget the disaster and move onto the solutions.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Donnie Walsh happened, when no one though it would happen.
isiah was sent to the corner when no one thought it possible.
D'Antoni happened when everyone thought jax would happen.
A new GM is going to happen.
A new draft pick is going to happen.
It appears that Donnie's fixing the cap and going to try to make LeBron happen

What do you mean' it's not going to happen? It's happening!
I'll never trust this' team again.

Bro, I'm talking about people at this board giving up the drama and objectively analyzing the future prospects of the team. I agree with you wholeheartedly!

How can any reasonable person come to the conclusion that hiring D'Antoni and Walsh is somehow a terrible development? Its a joke.

Seattle has more picks then they have roster spots + they will have to pay a 30 million dollar fine if they move to a smaller market (okc) and will not receive financial aide given from the NBA to smaller markets.

Now we're unlikely trade partners with players but Donnie could try to buy a pick from them.

Bingo! You can buy the picks and if the Knicks have anything in abundance it's dough.

Forget trades. I'm all about flexing the cap in two years. If we could' get another pick, I wouldn't mind that at all.

Just buy a 2nd rounder from a team and get Joey Dorsey but I agree that the move for Nichols was pointless since he was cut in favor of Jerome James.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

King 1 you know the story of Caron Butler? He was arrested 8 times as a youth for gun and drug charges and spent a year in juvenile. He went to a tough prep school in Maine set up by Jim Calhoun and Max Good. Moral of the story is two tough coaches gave this kid a huge chance when none others would. Caron Butler is one of the nicest guys I ever met at Uconn and I know personally how much JC thinks of him. He turned out to be a great person beyond basketball. Sometimes young people go the wrong route --but if you have read about Giddens he looks like a kid who has it on tight.

While I agree having a #35 (or possibly anywhere from #31 to #38 just not #34) pick would have been a nice bonus there's this really pesky thing we've got and that's a full roster.

We won't re-sign Jones because we need that slot for our #5 (or #1 to #8 just not #4) pick who is likely to be a PG.

I guess we could have bought out James or Malik or Marbury to make room....or given up on Morris completely (something tells me we will give him a second look though)

Overall we're kinda filled up barring any 2-for-1 trade scenarios. I'm not all that worried about what the 2nd rounder could have brought.

Besides, it's over and done with, much like Layden and Isiah, Nichols and Jared Jordan, so no real need to get aggravated over it is there?

I think it's more important to focus on what we have and what we need to do. I'm just *slightly* more excited to see what we will do with what we have rather than bite my nails off over what that 2nd rounder might end up being.

I'm sure if it turns out to be another Skita nobody will say a word but if turns out to be another Manu or Hornecek or Arenas people are going to bitch moan and cry and crap all over Dolan's desk, hammer away on Layden errr I mean the refs oh booing fans no wait the corrupt league uhhh Isiah or someone...anyone they can just to go off.

It's kinda out of our hands though, no? So who cares at this point.

Curious, how much would it cost to buy a 2nd rounder from Seattle? A million? 2 million? If that's the case, it'd be a no-brainer to purchase one of Seattle's high 2nd rounders and go after an athlete like a JR Giddens (excellent call BRIGGS btw - totally a D'Antoni guy) or a shooter like Shan Foster.
