What exactly should we have been satisfied over the last 7 years?

Either way, this "you guys are idiots, he will be great" rhetoric is similar to the hiring of Isiah Thomas as coach(not GM).

There is nothing to be satisfied with over the last 7 years, but that BUM who is responsible for that ISIAH is GONE...So lets look to brighter days ahead instead of always bitching and moaning

Perfect hire we have a system and now he can blow up the team. Only about 4 guys can play this style. Jackson comes in has no experience and he may have tried to make Zach and Curry work. Now we know they can play this system.

the only guys that don't fit a run & gun type style on this roster are Curry, Zach & Turd... if D'Antoni's hire means Walsh plans on getting rid of those 3 there's really no reason for the complaining.

Quentin will have to lose 30lbs and Steph has already been traded from Phoenix. Balkman skill level will be exposed.

Balkman is the one player I think that will be a revelation under D'Antoni. Just like Diaw started putting up very nice all around stats. Diaw was hardly known for being a skill level player and came over very raw from France.

What you have here with Balkman is a player that plays faster and more actively than 99% of the rest of the league. The uptempo style will allow him to unleash his main competetive advantage in the NBA. He will create possessions for the Knicks and be a good finishing man on fast breaks. I think his volume stats will really go up.

Which includes jax, right???

I prefer D'Antoni over Avery. I would've liked the chance to interview Thibodeau and I prefered Mark Jackson over D'Antoni.

He's a good coach, but I don't think we will win a championship with him or build the foundation for a championship with him, so it just seems like 4 more years of waiting to get that right mix. I think it'll be pretty entertaining in the mean time, but isn't the goal to build towards a championship?

Quentin has already played in a run & gun system & done well so i'm not worried about him so much.

Balkman would do great in a run & gun style, are u kidding me? he runs the break better than anyone on this roster... Steph can do well in a run & gun style, but he's a non-issue for me... he's gone after this season anyway... i think the main issue that needs to be addressed is getting Zach off this team & replacing him w/a more athletic frontcourt player.

Quentin is done. He's cooked. D'Antoni traded Quentin and Marbury away. He'll like Crawford and Nate and Lee and that's it.


IMHO the only way D'Antoni works here is if we trade Steph for JOneal and somehow get Derrick Rose in the draft.

i agree Q is pretty much done but what are we really expecting out of him anyway? i also think there's guys other than the ones u mentioned that would do better in D'Antoni's system... Jamal can play well in an uptempo style, Jefferies as scrubby as he is can at least run the floor, Balkman would be great in a fast paced offense running the wings on the break or even bringing the ball upcourt & leading the break, & i think Chandler is easily athletic enough to succeed in that type of system... the only guys who would really be slowing us down is Zach & Curry (Turd never plays anyway so who cares)... i don't necessarily think u have to trade Steph for JO, he's not exactly fit to play in an uptempo style anymore either... a guy like KMart would be perfect for us & would allow us to trade Malik's expiring without losing any depth in our frontcourt, but only if it's in exchange for an equally bad contract like Zach's... i don't trade Marbury's expiring for any deals that net us a longer term contract unless that player will significantly improve the roster, otherwise just taking the cap space will benefit us a lot more in the longrun.
