HI there to everyone! I'm kind of new in this kind of thing (forums, 'cause I have been a knicks fan long enough to smile, cry and laugh)so let me ask you:

If you could get ONE player (any player)to go along with the team we have now and change the course the Knicks have taken, who would you take and why?

(NOTE: I don't care if it's impossible to get, but at least it can give me an idea of the kind of ONE player that could do it)

Cheers! Go Knicks!

My personal bet is Kevin Garnett, but that's just me.

Seeing that we need a center pretty badly, and the hole hasnt been filled since Ewing left that leaves 2 players - one of which is a true center. Shaq or Duncan. I would probably take Shaq because then the rest of the team will look like all stars with him down low.

I agree - but only in the short term. In the next two years my answer would be Shaq...but after that, I say TMAC. I really think he's be a perfect fit in NYC...I got a chance to observe him a bit during offseasons in Orlando...and although he's a native, his lifestyle will expand beyond what Florida can offer. I think one taste of being the New York Icon would be enough. - Oh, and the max salary, too.

Shaq, with Shaq the KNicks win a championship next year. There is no player like Shaq. Duncan, T-mac and Kobe all would be second to Shaq and then the third tier players like Garnett and Nowitzki.

Tim Duncan. Shaq is getting old. You can to get a Superstar Big a lot harder than a Superstar Small.

By the way, I am going off-topic here, have you noticed the MAX CONTRACT signings? Duncan $122M, Jermaine O'Neal $126

Can we stop the madness?

Maybe we should call Samuel L. Jackson (S.W.A.T. version) to correct this problem.

I had so much respect for Tim Duncan before. I was thinking that he is not like KG or any other superstar that takes the max and wiping out the team CAP in the process. Then they have the audacity to complain about supporting help.

actually, lebron is none of these. He hasn't even played in the NBA yet. Potential, yes.

This is my opinion and I entitled to it

I don't feel he has to play in the nba to prove it too me. just like many felt duncan and shaq was going to be great before they even played in the nba.

I could be wrong but i feel Lebron is a leader on the court and great playmaker and a good playmaker right now.

I take LeBron over everyone... the only guy I would have taken would have been a young and healthy Shaq... aside from that, it's all LeBron James for me.

But also to be the perfect KNICK, A player has to have more than just the skills...he has to have that OakleySTarksCambySpree-ness...

And for me, out of the top talent, only a few have that...Iverson, TMac, KG, LeBron.

Those are the guys I see looking 'natural' in Orange and Blue. Guys Oak would run with, and Clyde would tolerate.

I take Garnett.

I with you. But I am also torn between Garnett and Ben Wallace.

Yes, I know he can't score. But the man is a horse on the boards. If they had him, with sweetney, lampe, spree and <dare I say it> a consistant Houston, wow what a team!!!

But, like pike said, Never-Neverland is in view, so wake me up when we get there.

I don't think so. Maybe in 3 years. Houston lit up Kobe and T-Mac and a few other superstars last year.
