His stock can't get any lower at this point with the weed admission coupled with his poor performance in the playoffs. Howard was a guy who at one time was condsidered a legit offer in a package for Kobe.

Not sure if we have enough to get him even with his damaged stock. But I just wanted to take the pulse of the board. As long as we can keep Lee, Chandler and our draft picks, I might be willing to take a shot at him.

Yes!

I like his game - I'd want Donnie to have one his little sit downs with Josh about the weed thing though and see what's up. I don't see us having enough to get him unless we trade our lotto pick.

There aren't many NBA players from Wake Forest, but the few there are seem to be really good: Duncan, Paul, JHoward.

That said, I don't think we can get him.

Despite his falling stock and perhaps the imminent need to get him out of Dallas, I'm not sure if we have what it takes to get him. We do have expirings and would probably have to at least take back a contract or two just to get them on the phone. But he's not nearly as bad as he has shown since Kidd joined the club.

Ha! I guess that offer is just to see how far his stock has really plumeted. Honestley, I'm sure we can get him even if we were to include Lee. But I'm definitely not trading away anymore draft picks.

Hell yes. No question, no doubt.

Do the Knicks have what it takes to get him? Absolutely not, unless Cuban also man crush on David Lee... like Lee + Curry/Crawford/whatever player they want for Howard. I wouldn't trade the pick for Howard though. A chance at a good player + cap space > Howard though.

dolan don't want to add more clowns to this circus. josh howard would be nothing more than a major distraction playing in new york.

I like Howard, I think he's a good player, but I think he's a 2nd or 3rd option on a good team. I would take him with the hopes that we can land a franchise player at some point. I think him Lee and Derrick Rose would be a nice young core

he's young- but I still think we're too far away from being in a position to compete- Perhaps a Chandler & Curry package would be workable?

I think the Knicks should go hard after Josh Howard. Zach, Josh and Craw is a decent core with a point guard somewhere in that mix.......curry and Lee could go.

Mark Cuban's club is at a point where they need to make a change. They have old ass kidd and Dirk.......they are washed up in my opinion. They need a reliable low post scorer and they need a hustle guy to get those tough rebounds. David Lee and Curry fit that bill.

Could dallas actually improve with Dirk, Lee, Kidd, Curry, and jason Terry? Whotf cares?

Let's see. He got his guaranteed contract - a big one I might add - and he no longer plays anywhere near the intensity nor the style he played to get that contract. He stopped attacking and instead jacks long range shots. He plays half the defense he once did. He lazily runs breaks or passes - when he used to be quick and on target. He jokingly admits he blazes up and held a big birthday bash on the eve of an elimination game.

Yeah, just what we want in New York, another guy who lacks any real desire for the game and knows he gets paid his big cash no matter what.

In other words... NO THANKS. I want hard workers on this team.

Come'on, man.

Zach: No defense, good passer but doesnt pass, arrogant jackass, poor teammate, chucker.
Craw: No defense, mediocre passer who prefers and-1 tricks to fundamentals, good kid but poor teammate due to his 1-1 desires, chucker.
Josh: Content with his big contract, plays with half the intensity he did to get the contract, went from driver and dunker to chucker, went from high flier on transition buckets to a chucker and a turnover machine.

That's a good core? Compared to what? Not even compared to what we have.

Get off the soap box!

Your all doom and gloom all the time Right now its about working with what you have and yes we all would like to see the Knicks build a dynasty but right now that just isn't a realistic possibility. So its about just getting this team playing competitive basketball again. Look this team has a ton of rebuilding to do but offering the same the Knicks suck I hate every player is just a waste of space imo. Before you go ranting about how I love every player and think this team is complete I don't but I just think we should be thinking about realistic solutions which includes working at least some of the players on this team.

I don't think Lee + this year's lottery pick would be a good enough offer for them to pull the trigger. Josh is a 20/7 all star (and I know he smokes weed in the off-season).

Josh Howard put up allstar numbers the first half of the year. In fact, I remember some people had him on their mock allstar teams before the actual team was announced. His game did seem to take a hit once Kidd arrived. Not sure why that didn't work. I think a change of scenary would be good for him and Dallas.

Josh Howard is good player but he's just not a legit 2nd option for a Championship caliber team.

So you don't think a guy that averages 14pt 12rbs when he starts playing with no pg combined with a draft choice would be enough. they would do that deal in a heartbeat.....

anycore that includes crawford or zach is a joke, both those guys are terrilbe.

Doom and Gloom all the time? What on earth are you talking about? Our team has been horrible for years and no fewer than 8 of the current players are directly responsible for that.....yet....some people still think they are a good core and "just the right coach" or "just one more trade" away from competing at a high level.

It's not my fault they're still caught up in such a loop of destruction.

As a fan who desires to have a watchable if not fun team in front of me in the next few years I want the majority of this team gone.

If that's "Doom and Gloom" then I guess the definition of the phrase has changed since the last time I checked....

And before you call the "____ player stinks get rid of him" a waste of space - or beating a dead horse - or a "we know so shut up already" guess what? When people post "Crawford is awesome, a keeper, a great player lets build around him and Zach!" every day? It's the same damn beating of a dead horse, a waste of space, and a "yeah, we know you love him, please stfu already." scenario.

Please don't act like one opinion is worthwhile of discussion while another is worthwhile of being dumped in the trash.

Thanks.

Howard is 28 - that, I believe, is, on average, the age that athletes physically peak - i.e., he is as fast, strong and as quick as he will ever be.

We talk about BB IQ - but the game is largely based on athletic ability- and will to win certainly plays a huge role-

I think Josh would be a nice fit- but we'd have to be sending equal money back at least.

So what move is good? If it wasn't reported that Howard smokes week everyone would want him.

Knicks need a true small fwd. I personally think the Knicks should try to get John salmons, or one of the dudes in Atlanta......Josh Howard is statistically better than both....but they all are basically the same players.

Yes David Lee could go if thats what it took to get any of these guys....Zach, a true small fwd with Craw is decent....how they are coached and how they run the game plan is what will make and break them.
