AS per WFAN, Mike Francesa:

Press conference at 5, Walsh will tell everyone Isiahs full fate during the conference call.

Typical, 5pm on a Friday. Isiah is most likely staying.

What does the time of the conference have anything to do with Isiah's fate? Can somebody post this on here b/c I don't have MSG down here! Thanks.

This is so calculated, as to the timing, that it smacks in the face of the whole Donnie Walsh has full autonomy over the franchise and the media policy.

If Isiah stays, it's blatantly obvious that Donnie Walsh doesn't have autonomy over the franchise and nothing of substance is changing with the media policy. That's the absolute bottom line.

Knicks fans keep getting scammed by Idiot Dolan.

By waiting until 5pm on Friday afternoon, to announce that Isiah is staying, it diminishes the uproar and negative press. It's PR 101. If you have something to announce and don't think it's going to reacted to favorably, do it late in the afternoon on Friday. This has all the earmarks of Isiah staying.

I hope someone tells Donnie Walsh that this isn't the classy or professional thing to do.

Isles... if Isiah has to stay and he's scouting college games or something, does it really matter? I mean as long as he's not part of the daily operations, I could care less. Obviously, I hope he's out all together, but if Walsh actually got him out of the GM and Coache roles and into something as meaningless as scouting, I think it's a big win for the fans.

You don't think it matters that Isiah still has Dolan's ear? Make no mistake, Isiah is still very much a part of this organization. He's exactly where he wants to be now. He's making his money, he's behind the scenes and doesn't have to deal with the media on a regular basis, he's working with a Team President that he has a good relationship with and he still has Dolan in his pocket. What a ****ing joke.

Why? Then he can always be promoted down the road and it's realistic considering Donnie's age. Isiah needs to be completely gone. He's poison to the orgnanization and I hope Isles is just overreacting.

true, but it's also tradition to fire a bad employee on a friday and tell them not to come in on Monday to limit the damage they can do.

let's wait and see. and pray.

Isiah positively HAS to be completely eradicated from this team. It's about influence, accountability, karma, cleansing, new beginnings, fresh start, Walshes autonomy, etc.

Marbury too.

Put the past behind us.

Isiah is already in limbo, he can't do anything to harm them right now.

I'll wait and see, but these are some really bad signs.

I think this was done to cut down on the media distraction and questioning throughout the day. Plus there's no telling what precautionary measures they had to prepare for throughout the day to get rid of him. This wasn't some easy quick process I'm sure it's taken quite a bit of time to get done.

First off Isles, this is NY. There will always be a ton of negative press and if Isiah gets fired of if he's retained, the coverage will be enormous no matter what. Secondly, lets stop worrying and just pray that you are wrong. I know we've had nothing but bad luck, but it's gotto change sometime. Isiah has to go.

Where's the negative if Isiah is dismissed completely?

Don't bother, there is none.

No, they're keeping it as quiet as possible. Not on MSG or anywhere. It's a typical 5pm on a Friday announcement.
