Trading KT, Sweetney, Ward and Williams for Antoine Walker is just plain horrible. This move reeks Scott Layden.

Wait a minute, we have Layden! DAMN!!!

Hopefully, it's just another NY Daily News slow (so I will just make things up) day.

Personally, I agree with NYKBocker that the trade proposal is ridiculas. But, again, it can be only a fit if it's from Layden...

I think that we would be giving way too much for a ball hog that disappeared against the Nets. Take out Sweetney from the deal and I would say go for it.

If they insist on Sweetney then replace Ward with Eisley.

Also, Sweetney just signed a contract. He can't be traded till December.

MARTIN, the substance you are looking for is this: Giving away SWEETS, KT, WILLIAMS & WARD is a bad move because WILLIAMS is finally showing some promise, KT is the best interior threat in the eastern conf., SWEETS....well just look at his career at GTOWN & yesterday's preformance & finally WARD'S cap relief. We give up youth, toughness, 2 interior scorers, cap relief & a PG that is going to be better than EISLY for a ball chucking, 27 yr old PF who may not resign with the KNICKS after next year when his contract is up. That would leave us with NOTHING to show for 2002 & 2003 draft. WILLIAMS & SWEETS gone, MCDYESS in a wheelchair, KT gone & BOSTON getting WARD'S cap relief. How is that for substance.

I read the article and I nearly had a heart attack. Laydumb's incompetence never fails me! First, we'd give up half our youth. Second, the Knicks get raped in this deal. I'm surprised Ainge didn't take the deal.

There is one thing that gives me hope here, that the trade already made it to the papers so its either dead in the water or it was all just a rumor. I really dont think Layden would give up that many players for Walker - especially since his trade value has taken a huge hit. Maybe its a case of Boston trying to make it sound like Walker has more value then other teams think?

This won't happen. Every time we hear one of these stupid rumors everybody jumps all over Layden (remember T.J. Ford?). I'm not crazy about the guy, but he's not this stupid.

The trade proposal is so utterly ridiculous... it could NEVER happen... even with Layden as GM. Whoever reported this nonsense is completely wasting our time.

The "news" services are all reporting a ny daily news article which can't happen because sweetney cant be traded before december 15, wont happen because spree is still here after the deal. Layden has certainly not proven to be a whiz at trading but he certainly isn't without intelligence.

That trade would remove a c/pf/pg/pg giving back a sf in a pf body-think of what would be left on court even if mv were then to be signed

I really get the impression that Layden has grown since the eisley, anderson spoon fiascos and is attempting to go forward in a more reasonable manner

I think technically the trade would have happened BEFORE Sweetney was signed--- thus they just would have been trading "the rights to Mike Sweetney"...

In any event, the trade isn't gonna happen now.

technically...

1) not only would we not have a center... we wouldn't even have the one guy who could get us a rebound (KT) we'd even be more dysfunctional
2) we'd trade two of the most promising players we've had in awhile, dismissing any rumor or possibility we're ever going to combine youth with vets
3) we'd be trading for another aging player in a position we're already stacked

I'd be tempted NEVER to watch the Knicks again if the architect pulls the trigger. SOMEBODY HAS TO TAKE THE GUN OUT OF HIS HANDS BEFORE HE STRIKES AGAIN!!

i guess making this deal would mean mcdyess is going to retire, or they are going to trade spree. who would be our center? i dont really have a problem with this trade since we would make the playoffs with walker, spree, and houston; but it just irks me that we traded camby for nothing.
