“New York is a unique situation in it’s own right and it brings unique problems, but that’s why we’re here to iron these things out and work them out and continue moving,” Thomas said. “The last championship here that was won was 1973 and there’s a lot of work that needs to be done and there’s work that has been done and there’s more that we’ll continue to do. You just don’t jump up and win championships. New York has threatened to win a couple of times, but you’ve never really won and I want to win it and everything we’re trying to do here is build it so one day we can win a championship.

“I was laughed at in Detroit when I was talking this way and a couple of years later, after putting in the work, eventually we did it. I have extreme confidence that we’ll get it done here. You can mock and laugh along the way because that’s how it goes when you’re on the bottom and you’re trying to get to the top, but I’m extremely confident that we will get to the top as a Knick organization. We will deliver something that one day everyone will be proud of. Again, you haven’t been proud here since ‘73. So we’ve got our work cut out and I intend to stick it through and stick it out. It’s a tough place and you deliver tough blows, but my job is to take it, and to keep moving, and to move through it. I’ve won in this league several times, and I intend to win more times than that. Say what you want and do what you want, but one day you’ll be asking me how’d it feel when I was sitting here, and I’ll tell you how I felt, then I’ll talk to you about the championships hopefully we’ll deliver for you.”

The self-proclaimed "Piston for life" also seems unable to acknowledge the Knicks teams of the 1990s. Just days after Patrick Ewing was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame, Thomas took a shot at the Ewing era when he said New York fans "haven't been proud here since 1973," when the Knicks won their last championship.

"That's a fact," he said. "You haven't won here since 1973."

This guy is telling us the 90's didn't count now? Is he for real?

Notice how he also says "you." Piece of **** Piston.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

He is a raging @ss. He is unprofessional, incompetent, a liar, a narcissist, and has spent the last 4 1/2 years destroying the Knicks. There is no reason for him to be employed by the Knicks at this point. He continues to damage daily and alienates fans. His current win streak is unbelievable. WTF? You already buried the team with your horrible transactions. Now you need to win just enough to lose a good a spot in the lottery.

It's just a matter of time before someone beats him into a coma. He doesn't care. LOL @ any Knick fan who has ever defended him.

That's exactly what I have been saying. Isiah HATES Ewing and maybe even the Knicks as an org. I really think there's a level of disrespect.

Oh btw, can we please just freaking kick this guy back into Chicago already? Or maybe Detroit and we'll build a team that will once again kick his Pistons arses.

You guys are acting like he's lying.

The 90's Knicks were very good and great to watch but they did win any Championships? no.

and at the end of the day...isn't that what we all want? Or are you all content with just "competing" every year?

No swimfish, but are you telling me we can't be proud of the teams that gave it their all for us during the 90s and during the King years and so and so? I can honestly say I'd want to go to war with the Ewing teams any day of the week and stand tall doing it. Those were still great Knicks teams that just happened to get run over by Jordan and Larry Bird and so...

I was more proud of Hubie Brown's knicks after King went down - guys like Rory Sparrow & Louis Orr? I mean, they shouldn't have probably even been in the league- but they gave it their best effort all the time.

This group of losers!

In fact, I was more proud Don Chaney's Knicks that won 37 games.

Isiahs proud, and our proud is different.

I hate Isiah, but there is only one kind of proud!

Don't get me wrong, going to conf finals is a good season. Losing in the finals is a great season, but I think Isiah meant winning it all.

He has.

He is an arrogant little phuch.

Why is he bing allowed to finish the season? He's doing significantly more harm than good by being around... which I didn't think was possible.

Of course not. I'm with you on this brother...I'm proud of the effort and passion the Knicks of old brought to the court every game but the bottom line is they never won the CHAMPIONSHIP. and I think thats what I.Thomas was talking about it

Isiah should not be referencing the Knicks past because he isn't a member of the Knicks and never will be. I don't care how long he served here as coach and GM, he will never ever be considered a part of this organization.

Especially when this organization turns things around. That's when his name will never be mentioned.

Isiah's name is only mentioned during mediocrity.
