Celtics just swept the Texas Triangle (Houston, Dall, SA) *on the road.* I'm going with Celtics/Lakers finals. I'd give the Lakers at least a 60% of winning the series. Kobe looks like he's serious about being a team player at this point in his career. They definitely need Pau back and Bynum would be very helpful, but I think they can do it even without Bynum.

I say Celts over Phoenix in the finals.

Just got a feeling it's the Suns year in the West

So Phoenix beats the Lakers in the west? That sure would be an exciting series but I think LA would win. I think the Gasol trade put them over the edge. People are just now seeing how effective and versatile an offensive player is. He's no superstar but IMO he's one of the best complimentary players in the league. Getting 10.3 RPG from their SMALL forward is huge too.

Spurs vs Celtics

Thinking about it more, I see no way the Spurs lose to the Lakers or Suns. Their frontline is too physical, Manu is now in his prime and nobody can guard Parker. Kobe would be forced to play like selfish Kobe, which would spell the Lakers doom.

Why would Kobe be forced to play selfishly? I don't get that part. The Spurs have a tough battle without home-court advantage (although that could change) just to make it past the first round.

this may be last appearance for spurs to hit finals providing gasol and bynum are still out. meaning if both teams have their players back lakers dominate

the Lakers were 12 games over .500 before they even made the trade, & Pau's missed the last 4 games due to injury (told u that would happen), of which they've won 3 against 2 of the top teams in the Western Conference... since u didn't think Kobe was a franchise calibre player before u should probably start changing your opinion about him now.

Because Tim Duncan and Kurt Thomas can just take on Bynum and Gasol, one on one, and Manu is pesky enough to keep Odom honest, to say the least, even though there's a big height difference.

Hence, all there is is Kobe, and with everyone else kept in check, he's going to be relied on to do the heavy load of scoring, on Bruce Bowen. That's not a good situation for the Lakers.

I laugh when I hear Kurt Thomas will keep anyone in check--he'll get outscored by about a dozen PPG and three assists by Gasol. Kurt needs to be an 8th man at this stage in his career. I think Gasol outplays Kurt by a wider margin than Duncan outplays Bynum.

We're gonna have to agree to disageee on this one. In the meantime, carry on laughing and then I'll be laughing my ars off at you when Kurt Thomas outplays Gasol. I'll even tape it and put it on youtube.

That doesn't keep a conversation going! At least tell me why you think Duncan's gonna outplay Bynum by more than Gasol outplays Kurt! Your view surely defies the four players' current season stats. I'll be laughing at you (and Marv!) if the Spurs don't even make it past the first round, which they're not favored to do right now (based on seeding).

that's easy... KT will be playing while Gasol's on the bench in street clothes.

I know (or at least think) you're just joking but based on the last six seasons, the reverse is more likely: Gasol plays while KT is in street clothes.

Suns/Celtics.

I think the Suns might win it all... either that or the Spurs will beat the Suns and win it all.
