So if we take the names Beasley Rose Lopez Mayo out---then what do you do if your the Knicks--that is what the Knicks should concentrate on.

Okay, I get it. Well' there's still Lopez who can turn into a nice piece of our nucleus. If he doens't become dominating, he'll certainly still be a very important big man who can defend.

After Beasley, Mayo and Rose, the remaining prospects show good promise, but also come with severe question marks. Here are some prospect who should be on the board when we/if we pick after 4:

Jerryd Bayless: Lightening quick off the dribble, reliable jumper out to the 3-point line but isn't a pure point. More in the line of a Monte Ellis type scoring lead guard.

Thabeet: Tremendous defensive presense in the piant which is what we need. Very raw offensively and lacks the bb insticnts because he picked up the game late. Athletic but a bit mechanical at times. Wouild have to be patient with him.

Deandre Jordan: Very promising propect. Has a great physique and has been compared to Dwight Howard in terms of athletic ability and build. Hios offensive game is limited to dunks and put backs right now and defensively, from what I've seen thus far, hasn't been a dominate presence defensively (though he has had some good defensive games of late including 6 blocks about two weeks ago). The fact that he is playing with another big man might be holding him back.

Anthony Randolph: Good all around skills. at 6'10 he can handle it like a guard, good passer and can get to the rim. Reminds a little of Lamar Odom but not as strong. This kidd needs to add some weight though.

Eric Gordon: A 6'3 shooting guard. Obviously he is undersized, but unlike Ben Gordon, Eric is much stronger. Can absorb contact under the rim and finish. Plays a little bigger than his size. Big hands and feet and broad shoulders. One of the best shooters in this draft. Reminds me a little of Morris Almond but Eric is a little more athletic.

Nicolas Bantum: Never seen this kid play.

Jevale McGee:Love the idea that both his parents played high level ball. He really understands the game. Extremely athletic for a seven footer. Can run the floor like a forward. Saw him shoot the college three off the dribble. He fits into the mold of the future perimter/big men. Rahseed, Amare, KG, Dirk, etc. Not saying he is going to be as good as those guys obviously, but he has the skill-set to drift away from the paint with some work. Looks more like a PF to me. Would need to add more strength on the next level.

If I'm the Knicks, I'm not worried about trying to pick a player that might fit in with the cureent mix of odd parts currently weraing the blue & orange. I'm looking for the best prospect and will go from there.

With that said, if Mayo, Rose and Beasley are gone, going stricly on potential, I might go Jordan, McGee and Thabeet...in that order. I will also say this, if we dont get a top 4 pick, I would definitely look to move a player to get an additional late lotto pick if possible.

I agree with this. We don't have any players who are crucial pieces for the team's future, sadly. The closest we have a is one very good sixth man or average starting PF in D Lee.

That is the only' time I will agree with including Lee in a trade, for a #2 pick, to have a chance at Beasely.

Trade Lee. Get an early pick. Then maybe we can get a guy who's as good as Lee even though the odds are against it. Makes sense.

as long as its a shot blocker
on another note morris might be our answer in the pivot
this guy is easily our best bigman
when and if we get him to sign a long term deal and he gets on the floor
knicks fans will be impressed
i know i am

Hopefully 1-4 is the worst off the knicks will be. We don't need any teams from behind us pushing the knicks back further.

I think what you are saying about not coming away from this draft with a small makes sense Briggs. I really hope we pick the best prospect, not the guy who is the most NBA ready. And if the knicks could get a pick between 10 and 14 for Lee, that would be great.

even if we get the top pick- our new GM should explore trading anyone and everything on the roster to try to add another pick.

This is how much I don't trust isiah. We end up with the number one and he picks someone like a McGee or Gordon and passes on Beasley. I think war would be declared following that moment and all hell would break out in the Mecca of Basketball.

Cant see Isiah being dumb enough to pass on Beasley. But if we land the 4th or 5th pick, I can definitely see Isiah selecting Eric Gordon, a fellow Indiana alumni, over a a big like Jordan. Now that would be dumb.

What?!

What you expect to get for Lee??? 10-14 is a great pick for him in this projected draft.

Maybe we could get the Kings pick.
