Have you seen him play? Don't go by stats. He's obviously ranked high for a reason. The system he plays in does him no justice.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

memphis runs everytime they got the ball, and its all drive and kick. briggs would say otherwise but i think rose is the best player on memphis (i think CDR is a tad overrated and dorsey only a product of all the guard play).

I'll say this much about Rose he IMO isn't more impressive than Jason Williams was when he played for Duke. He's a good player but highly overrated because there really are no clear cut point guards in the draft. I've seen him play 3 times this yr and end up saying to myself at the end of games Adam Morrison and J.J. Redick were more impressive college players. He's a byproduct of the over hype era we live in. The Kid can ball though and so can a few others possibly in this draft class.

You can't go by stats. Rose plays in a system that stresses ball movement, running/gunning and taking the first open shot that you see. Rose is one of the most talented players in the country and has deferred his game for the betterment of the team. Watch Memphis play sometime this March and you'll see what kind of player Rose is, as well as why his stats aren't comparable to someone like Beasely, who can take every shot for his team and not worry about it.

I think Augustin is a better guard but he's on the short side

Guys, the stats don't tell the full picture. Rose is the "point guard" in Memphis' offense, but he only pushes the ball in transition. Otherwise, the ball doesn't really need to flow through his hands. Remember, this was a Final Four team last year and the only change is Rose is the starting point now.

I saw him play live this year. Trust me, he can play. I think there's less risk involved with him than Beasley to tell you the truth.

Chris Douglas-Roberts is definitely the best player on the Memphis team and should be a top 15 pick but that doesn't mean I believe he is a better pro prospect. If you took out either player--the team would have a better record WITHOUT Rose. I'd be very happy to get Rose but Rose alone isnt going to change the prospects for this team as is. I said the other day that if we were lucky to get Beasley we could move to 50 wins quickly--I am wrong. Simply if we do not address a better defensive scheme starting with particular personnel--we'll be stuck in the mud.

I just hope Isiah Thomas is gone.

Chandler and Collins have to start and play major minutes the rest of the way because you need to know what you're looking for in the off-seson.

If Collins can run the point, great, you have to target the 3 spot. If Chandler can play the wing, great, you can start to dream about dumping one of the lardasses for better help defenders.

If we continue to run Q and Fred Jones out there, then you go into the draft not knowing at all what you're trying to address.

Collins, Chandler and Balkman represent the best defenders we've had on the roster since Spree and Camby. You have to try to round them into cohesive offensive players with to mesh with Craw, Lee, Nate and the fatties.

That's your team. That's your team for a long time.

You need to find out if we can be led by the strongest defenders on the roster instead of the me-first chuckers.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

JJ Redick is pretty nonexistant in the NBA these days... u can't always accurately project guys from how they look in college... some guys are great in college, then sign a huge contract & let their careers falter when they hit the pros... some guys never get a legitimate shot to showcase their talents due to other factors like who they maybe playing behind... some guys fly under the radar & blossom once they hit the pro game... it's different for every young player... from everything i've read & seen (i've only seen 2 games so it hasn't been all that much), Rose seems to have all the skills to become a good player in the NBA... he's been good at getting steals in the clips i've seen, is active with his onball defense, has very nice athleticism & speed running the floor & has a pretty good looking perimeter J... the assist to turnover ratio is a bit alarming, i'll concur w/Elite on that one tho.

This Kid Rose looks like a Devin Harris clone.......... somebody had to say it, he doesn't look great by any stretch.

You know, stats are the problems. People fail to look at what a player brings and focus on the negatives. You have pg leading his team a top team in his freshman year. There is something called an adjustment period.

The kid is a franchise talent, period. Beasley is a good player, but bigs have an easier time putting up numbers in college because of the lack of athletic size.

I guess that means we'll be trading him for the likes of a third tier talent on draft day(e.g. Washington Wizards trading him and Stackhouse for Antwan Jamison). You know since we have our Arenas Lite in Crawford and Nate 45.

WTF are u talking about here? u wanna instigate another argument with me? maybe we can trade every draft pick we have for the next millenium for the Great & Almight Baron Davis or T-Mac since they're both MVP's & better than some shoe in HOF players still active in this league? but wait, what was i thinking to actually have the nerve to suggest such a lopsided trade in our favor.
