That is a fair price... I doubt anyone will offer $50 mil for 5 years. At least not yet.

No chance. At least not if Isiah is still here.

Knowing the Knicks, 6 years, $80 million out of fear that he might go elsewhere for the MLE.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I really don't want to over pay for a one dementional weak defense player. Nice bench player to have but thats about it. David Lee is just slightly better than MLE money.

If the Knicks are in their right minds they will offer him the Qualifying in 09/10 of 2.68M. Then as an unrestricted FA in July 2010 he is free to try to get 50, 60, 80M from some stupid team or we can freely match any reasonable contract offer sheet he signs.

Given our position there is no reason to offer David Lee or Nate or anybody else a contract extension.

Besides, why worry about this now, when Isiah might not get fired and might be allowed to make another retarded draft day deal that might see Lee and our pick sent out for someone else's overpaid crap?

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

That's ridiculous! Lee isn't worth Jerome James money!

You got it man you got it.

Then, if another team gives him what we perceive to be nothing in 2010? We can match.

This franchise needs to smarten up. If Lee is a tough kid he will understand.

Yeah there's no reason to rush to sign him. He's under contract next year and the year after.

its a tough one

Is Lee better than Troy Murphy? I mean their games are different but neither are good defenders, both are excellent rebounders and both pretty one dimensional on offense. Isnt Murphy's deal regarded as pretty bad?

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Lee has much more energy than Murphy. He gets to loose balls better. Last year I would have said Lee can also finish more explosively around that basket than Murphy can, but Lee seems to have lost some of that. But there isn't a huge difference between them, all grant that. We can hope that Lee improves at a better rate than Murphy did. He's at least improved his jump shot and FT shooting. I don't mind slightly overpaying for a guy with a great attitude who plays his heart out.

That would still make him one of the more reasonably paid Knicks!
