He's 25--he's played with 2 Spurs championship teams and is really coming on as a starting PG with good size at that position. Im pretty sure he is an UFA and maybe the kind of player this team needs character wise.

I think he's a better idea than Carlos Arroyo, for one.

Why--this is the type of player that the MLE was made for. I don't want Ron Artest--too much drama on a team that needs charachter and have pieces that can fit together the right way.

Will we have a roster spot for our rookie draft pick, AND an MLE signing?
I guess that means No Randolph Morris next year. I'd rather keep the Center.

I like this idea. From a salary point of view, I think it isn't restrictive given the contracts already in place over the next 4-5 years. Udrih is 40% from 3pt range, 46% overall + he's serviceable even as a starter. And he can play backup in the event we strike gold with Rose.

The other route, in the event we don't land a top 2 pick, is to pass on Udrih and begin the tanking for next year.

The only way we get Rose is by actually getting pick 2. Pro NBA scouts arent going to pass on Michael Beasley at 1 and Rose is gone at 2 so he wont be there at 3. Beyond that I think Beno has what it takes to be a quality starting PG--something we haven't had.

if we don't draft a G i wouldn't mind targetting Sasha Vujacic from the Lakers... he's got good size in the backcourt & shoots the lights out when he's on... i wouldn't mind Udrih either for that matter.

We shouldn't use the full mid-level on anyone this summer. It's time to subtract salary, not add.

Briggs, I think this would be a good signing.

I like the way that Udrih has been playing lately and as weird as it sounds, I really think the Knicks need some of that foreign influence on this team, I mean the rest of the league has gone that direction and that style of play, in some way shape or form, why haven't we? But anyway, I like what Udrih can bring to the table as a PG/floor general type player, he can knock down J's and he can also D-up. Also, as you said, he's coming from a very successful organization.

I'm not so sure the Kings are going to let him go though, not with the way he's been playing as a starter.

I like the idea Briggs as far filling a need but I don't want to throw full MLE money at someone like Beno. I think we should look to make a trade for a vet point guard since we're more of a vet team. The perfect player would be Earl Watson his contract expires in two yrs and he essentially makes MLE money. I don't want to give out any long term deals besides to our own players if reasonable until the 2010 season. No 5yrs deals to anyone for the next 2 yrs including to a player who could help like Beno.

Earl Watson would be my target

So we're definitely giving up on Morris? How else would we use the MLE? Buying out Marbs?

I think he is an unrestricted FA. I think we can offer him 6 years 33mm$ with a full MLE next year. I'm not worried about using the MLE in terms of trying to get under the salary cap. It's the maximum contracts that have effect on the cap. We have used the MLE so POORLY I think the last 3 guys we used the MLE on were Weatherspoon Jerome James and Jared Jefferies. While Jefferies was in the age bracket that you would use an MLE on--he wasn't worthy in terms of what he brought to the table prodcution wise. Beno brings to the table many positive assets that are worthy of investment of the MLE. If we happen to get Derrick Rose the thought process would change but were looking at small %s

Beno is going to get more than the exception. Kings like what he bring to the game and they are going to lock him up.

Knick trade target Carlos Arroyo, the Puerto Rican point guard in the starting lineup because of injuries to Jameer Nelson and Keyon Dooling, had a sharp game, too, rolling for 13 points with eight assists, opening it up for Howard.

Arroyo is a free agent this summer and could be interested in the Knicks.

Udrich, Aroyyo?

All this means is that Isiah Thomas and Knicks Brass view this team as "just a trade away" from contention.

Wake up, fellas, we need not continue to muse about a player addition and pretend it's the solution to our wide ranging problems.....what we need to understand is we are a highly flawed roster through and through and the only solution is to make the entire roster go away ---- before attempting to build a winning product.

Anything else is pure folly. There is not a single player - realistic or fantasy - that you can even just plain add to this mix of trash - be it through trade or draft - that would ever turn us into a competitive team - or even...an EC playoff team.

Again, I say it all the time, so this time I keep it short. Add your favorite draft pick - or you favorite realistic trade idea - then tell me how that player will teach Crawful to stop chucking and play defense - or teach Curry to play defense, rebound, pass, lose 50 pounds, etc.

No, that new coveted addition can't do that? Can't work unnatural miracles? Oh, so then...you see my point.

There is ONE SOLUTION AND ONE SOLUTION ONLY!!! FIRE ISIAH, TEAR DOWN HIS MESS!!!!
