Beasley is going to be a star. We havent had a star since Patrick Ewing was 28 years old. You win in the NBA with stars. Even if I had to re-formulate everything---I could do it easier starting with Beasley.

You think Beasley is a better starting point than Rose?

If we were to land the second or third pick, you would still do this?

I'd much rather have Lee and Rose, Than just Beasley if we could land Rose and were not pickng number one.

Yes... Lee will have to be signed to an extension soon and this team is so bad off financially that extension will screw everything up even longer. I'd rather get an opportunity to get a player this team can build around, let contracts expire, followed by a free agent signing.

That's how the script plays out in Fantasy Land.

I don't follow college basketball at all but I would say that in any previous year--even the absolute weakest drafts--I still would trade Lee and the #5 pick (if that's where we end up) for the #1 pick. It's a gamble but I'd take it even though I like Lee a lot.

This is exactly my sentiment. I like David Lee as a player. But despite his great rebounding and energy, he has a bad outside shot. I don't know if Beasley is a sure thing, but he is more certain than any player that we can obtain 5th, 6th or 7th.

I think I would. I would pick Rose over Beasley, though.

David Lee is so overrated it's not even funny. You have to be an idiot not to do that trade.

Hmm...I take it back. If it's the 5th pick, yeah I do that trade. But not if it's the second or third. I would use David Lee to get rid of one of the bad contracts and bring in something else. I'd be so happy with Derrick Rose or Jerryd Bayless if they were to get the 2nd or 3rd pick. This franchise would have their PG for the next 10 years.

This is pointless, though: With Isiah it's probably gonna be Lee + 1st pick for 5th pick

I love Lee, but Lee and like the 5 pick for Beasley is something I would definitely consider doing in this draft. There's a big dropoff from the no.1/2 players.

How can you answer this? Are we trading Lee and a #3 for the #1, or are we trading Lee and a #7 for the #1?

That's a big difference.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

I'll let you know after Isiah ****s us for the last time with his misguided and delusional playoff push.
