Sore foot grounds Zach Randolph
BY FRANK ISOLA
DAILY NEWS SPORTS WRITER
Sunday, March 2nd 2008, 4:00 AM
ORLANDO - Zach Randolph was a late scratch Saturday night due to a sore right foot that could prevent him from playing Monday against the Hornets.
"It's a little sore," Randolph said. "Hopefully it is nothing serious."
Randolph, who scored 29 points to go with 17 rebounds in Friday's loss to the Hawks, was limping during a pregame workout. He said his foot was stepped on in the Atlanta game.
However, Randolph has played with sore feet for most of the season. He has even worn sneakers with his suits to alleviate the pain. But Saturday night was the first game Randolph has missed due to injury. He missed three games following the death of his grandmother and was suspended for one gam

That's the life of an NBA athlete. He's not gonna get any sympathy. Kobe's playing with a torn ligament in his hand.

The ability to be objective is utterly vacant from everything you say about Randolph. Now I'm sure if Randolph missed 25 games with this injury then you would have plenty to say.

Randolph is pure trash. He's worse than Derrick Coleman. He's the emptiest stat line I've ever seen in the NBA. He plays zero defense. He takes the most boneheaded shots I've ever seen. He stagnates the entire offense with his disasterous hold-the-ball-then-chuck-it routine. HE STINKS.

Worst trade yet.

Anyone who defends this chump is in love with BOX SCORES and thinks they equate to success. MUCH LIKE ISIAH HIMSELF.

Do you realize that post a rant like this almost daily now is it tiring or doesn't it get repetitive for you? Fat ass Curry, Crawful, Zachass, etc everyday no fail there's your rant about the team or a player. I get it everyone sucks and thats it. So if you have a differing a opinion then your either retarded or completely lack any basketball knowledge. Btw your rants never get old just keep them coming they get better and better with each new one.

Which sentence of mine contained something that wasn't accurate (or "objective"). I'll edit the post and correct it after you point it out. Thanks.

I think Randolph is a lot like Sprewell. He can be the best player on the team, but he is not a leader.

I think what we need above ALL position players is a guy that has the respect and strength and heart to lead.

I remember Tim Hardaway in Miami. I hated him but he was a leader. Derek Harper was one of the best, IMO. Brandon Roy is showing he has what it takes. Alonzo was another guy teammates would run through walls for. LJ. Robert Parish. Terry Porter, Sam Mitchell were guys who held men accountable and were able to back it up through on court.

It's amazing that the standards are so low, that all we want is a guy on this team that will hold other guys accountable.

Do you realize that defending this team or making excuses for them is tiring? It works both ways man!

What should we do instead? Say nothing? Post nothing? "Support the team" in a blind fashion pretending these clows will improve?

As I said..it works both ways. both sides of the argument are tiring but as long as someone is making one side of the argument the other will follow.

Thus is life on an internet message board.

And no I don't get tired of trashing Isiah Thomas and his piece of garbage roster he put together. I'm a Knick fan going on 24 years now and he destroyed my favorite team. I'm gunna rant on it and trash them until they're gone.

Echoes some of my own sentiments. Not against any person generally, but about the malaise that taints the focus of this board. [sarc] I love the daily posts that compare the single night stat line of an over-the-hill player to one of our Knicks in an attempt to discredit the ability of our players. Go Team! [/sarc]

Back on point, playing injured is seemingly what creates the iconic images that we remember... we always remember guys like Isiah or Reggie limping down the court, unwilling to sit games out. The announcers were not discussing Randolph's foot in Atlanta when they described him as being more athletic than any other time this season. Nor has this been an issue at any point this season. Nor is any person saying..."oh, well that explains his lack of defense." The Knicks are just giving him a night off. Let's see what Curry does with the box to himself.

You know I gonna spin wit it

Whose defending anyone or making excuses? Nowhere in the article to Randolph or the writer state that this was an excuse for any bad play but of course thats how you saw because again unless its total bash fest then you interpret it as defending the team's poor play. Thats why your response is so predictable because anyone thats not saying "yea the Knicks totally suck and should be thrown into the deepest part of the ocean" is apparently defending them.

NOBODY IS MAKING THE ARGUMENT!!! NOBODY! YOU START IT ALL THE TIME! Then you have the audacity to say that youer responding to those that are defending and making excuses? Get a clue! Message board. Not stupid rant board. We can go to RealGM for that.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

I don't think anyone is truly objective, or even think "objective" is a useful word actually (at least as an adjective).

I'm not exactly sure what "giving him run" means but I honestly haven't heard one person say one negative thing about him in this thread. Some of us just aren't sucking his c0ck for playing hurt

Then you will admit that if he is ready to play hurt for a losing team... he is not Marbury... and is not the team cancer everyone on the board seems to be painting him as.

Marbury's played hurt many times. He's even played needing surgery, not just with a sore foot.

^ If you think Marbury is sitting at home because of an injury then I have a bridge I want to sell you. In this league guys miss many games for a lot less just as the Pacers who are currently paying Jermaine O'Neal 20 million dollars while he's at home with a sore knee.

Earlier in Marbury's career he played many years hurt. I never justified his behavior this year.
