You see what he is doing to Curry, outside of his defense, Q has given this team nothing...
He does not bring any intangibles to game chemistry...

When Balkman is in the game things just seem to happen... he somehow seems involved and active on just about every play.
I like the idea of having players like Lee and Balkman out on the court at the same time... these two enjoy amping the intensity.

i mean this is the first in a long line of questions you could ask isiah. at this point just take it for granted and hope it ends soon.

color, believe me there's nothing i would like more than to see Lee & Balk starting on this team for the rest of the season, but it's not gonna happen as long as Isiah chooses to carry out his own personal agendas in determining playing time... he's probably too scared to bench Q cuz he knows he'd kick his arse.

in the other thread about playing fred jones so much- the argument is Isiah wants to win now.

But I agree- the knicks are way more competitive when Balkman and Lee are in the game.

So if Isiah is in win now mode- why not start Balkman, and for that matter, Lee?

He could at least try it.

This answers the question. Only way you start Balkman is if you start DLee as well.

Q was good last night. and even when his shot is shyt, he will defend and play hard, plus even at his worst, Q is still a better shooter than balkman.. Right now, until balkman gets a shot, he is a 15-20mpg player off the bench... He can develop one, look at lee, his jumper is so much better. Next year, I think lee knocks that shot down on a consistent basis and that will truly elevate his game..

Renaldo Balkman doesn't start because he's only been terrible for 2 years, while Quentin Richardson and Jared Jeffries have been terrible for over 5 years each. That's the Isiah Thomas way.

why doesn't he start Q at the 2 then & have Balkman & Lee at the 3 & 4? why is Fred Jones seeing so many minutes when he's not gonna be around next year anyway? it's mindboggling to me.

I harken back to this summer when I was wondering allowed about why Isiah never decided to target a PG or a SF that could shoot the ball consistently. Especially when he has two big guys clogging the paint.

There are so many unanswered questions.

With our current line-up unfortunately you can't play the guy big minutes at the 3. Only on nights the guards are shooting well together. On other nights all he does is help clog the paint.

Balkman is a scrub. Its a question of one SF scrub getting the start over another SF scrub.
