Both Wallace and Joe Smith have made it clear they don't mind having their roles altered.

Damon Jones and Wally and Boobie Gibson and Pavlovic takes care of the perimitter game.

Delonte West becomes the best pg defender on the team now with Eric Snow backing him up in that area.

Anderson Varejeo and ILGAUKAS man the middle.

Devin Brown comes in as a defensive sf defender

And the King, Lebron James anchors everything else.

lets see how they mesh and if big ben can regain his form.

otherwise, they are just a bunch of parts - like the knicks who we have said are deep. deep doesn't equal good, talent doesn't equal wins.

You lost all cred from me , when you compared the knicks depth with the cavs and their new parts.

The cavs guys have roles, the knicks doesn't.

Franco: I'm with playa on this one. Not sure I get your point. Leaving the Knicks out of the conversation I look at the Cavs and I see a well balanced team that can defend, rebound, shoot, penetrate and move the ball. ARe they the best? That of course remains to be seen. But I can't argue with the balance of this team

I wouldn't be surprised if Cleveland went back to the Finals.

Unless Zeke is fired, any player that comes in will be crap.

I will be glued to the tube to watch Cleveland play their 1st road game with new aquisitions tonight at 8 pm in Milwaukee.

Will the cavs new players jell without the hometown cheers being on the road ?

To answer the question, its NO in my opinion. Although the Eastern Conference Championship still has to go through the defending champs Cavaliers, the deepest team in the East and possibly the NBA is Detroit.

i still think that the pistons are the deepest team in the east. the cavs no doubt improved their squad but they still have some glaring weaknesses in key postions, particularly point guard. west is a servicable pg only. he should be a decent backup but not a starting point. add to the fact that the frontcourt got significantly older could cause problems with certain teams with a younger and active frontcourt like orlando. though it wouldn't suprise me if they do make it back to the finals with a conference so weak and too many teams with flaws, they are still a team that you can't proclaim to be the deepest.

I'm a Pistons guy too but I wouldn't overrate Cleveland's need for a PG at this point. Last year they whooped Detroit without one. Number 2: Chicago won titles with PG's that could do little more than shoot the perimeter J and make smart decisions. I think with Lebron handling the ball so much that's what they need at the Point. The question will be, can Delonte handle the pressure when the games get hot.

My point is until they play, we won't know how they will fit in.

Is Ben Wallace done? Can Wally stay healthy and can all the new bodies blend in?

Now- they have Lebron and as we've seen, he can be enough to get a half way decent team to the finals.

It will be interesting to see how they all fit & play together.

I agree with that I just think when you made comparison to the Knicks I think it ruined your point. Of course with trades it's always a wait and see. But at least the moves made sense. At least they fit a plan and a team concept. This is somehting the Knicks don't do. They don't get pieces that are supposed to fit and then we all sit back and watch. They get players that fit no scheme and no plan and then hope for the best, that will never come.

I agree 100% bip.

I'm a piston fan too (team play), but their youngins have never played in the playoffs so who's to say they will be deep come playoff time.

Cleveland made the best trade outside of the Lakers. I don't know how they beat out Detroit last year (I have theories). They are indeed a deeper team now, yes maybe the deepest in the East. If they come out of the East this year, I wont be surprised.
