Being honest and realistic, does any team have a dimmer future than the Knicks?

This is even assuming we have a new GM, and assuming that Dip**** Dolan doesn't mess it up again- and these are far from givens.

Right now, the teams in the league with a worse record than us are all much closer to turning it around.

Miami might just pull a portland/utah/boston and add a quality star in the draft, get healthy & make a great signing in the off season.

Minny is in for a long term rebuild, but they have cheap youth, and are positioned to add more youth and more talent. They face a real crap shoot as to whether they make the right choices, but at least they are right there.

Seattle has durant and a ton of draft picks in the next three years.

Memphis might be the one team that might have a dimmer future since their ownership is clouded to the extent that they're trimming pay roll to be like an expansion team.

We have players that aren't good signed to deals that make moving them unlikely, or if we can move them, we get back junk like the supposed Zach to Milwaukee trade.

Even with Colangelo, we have to be realistic- we are years away from being dug out of this hole- let alone moving forward. And I don't think there is a team worse off than the Knicks.

Perhaps, but "years away" is better than what we can expect with Zeke, which is NEVER.

realistically i would say the knicks have the worst future the done have 1 single players hand down that you can say u can build around....we have a couple nice role player but there wont be more then that...the knicks dont even have the stayle of play down pat one day we a guard town then a power team and all of a sudden were not a power team any more because big men are getting phased of of the league.... at least the other bad team of the league have a future with there young talent...

I'd trade the whole roster just for Al Jefferson. So would any GM. Sorry this is the worst run franchise in professional sports.

QFT.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Except for one thing: They have flexibility now. Not saying McFail is going to do anything with it I'm just saying if you're a GM looking for a job - you'd take the Minny roster/payroll situation over the Knicks' any day of the week.

A good GM can turn the Wolves into a good team rather quickly.

The Knicks will take up to 2 years to get to the position Minny is in TODAY.

Mchale has had more success than I SAY UGH as a GM of a franchise. He also has a franchise caliber player to build around we don't. They also appear to be in a better position come draft day this off-season than we will.

Knicks are the worst team in ALL sports.

But there is hope with Jerry Colangelo and a promising Rookie and a good trade. But if Isiah Thomas comes back, I quit. 25 years of rooting for this franchise will die. I'm done. I will root against the Knicks as if I was rooting against Alonzo Mourning and the Miami Heat.

Just imagine... 2008/2009 season... MSG... NY Knicks versus Miami Heat... The Garden is packed with NYrkers... rooting for Miami.
Wade for the dunk over Eddy Curry and Garden erupted with joy... standing ovation for Heat...

If the Garden is packed, that's all Dolan will care about and Isiah will still be here talking about how he's made the Knicks a hot ticket again.

We don't have a chance if we don't turn the team over to the youth movement completely.

Why we don't play Morris and Chandler is just beyond any kind of excuse Isiah can throw out there.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Al Jefferson, Rashad MCCants, Randy Foye, Corey Brewer, Top 5 Pick and Cap Room, yeah good point. They are a lot worse off.

We don't have one solid starter right now, not one

If Isiah is going to be fired if he doesn't make the playoffs, why would he be worried about our future? This is why if you feel you have to give an ultimatum to a coach it's probably time to just go ahead and fire him
I just hope that people will like me

Zach & Jamal are legitimate starters in this league... D Lee is a legitimate starter but it's a joke that he's not starting games for us right now.

Lee is the only solid starter. And he doesn't start so...

And Zach and Jamal are black holes that foster losing basketball, individual players with lots of skills that can't play in the team concept of the game.
