I see a lot of similarities. Based on rep? Ford is hands down better than Nate. As of right now? Even before Ford got hurt, Nate has been a Ford clone.

The only difference? Ford is locked into the game. Meaning he is in tune to the offense, coach and players. He changes pace, and slows down so the rest of his teamates can catch up and fill passing lanes......

That's it in my book. Ford is a passer but If Ford wanted to he could score with the best of them. Same could be said about Nate. Nate loves to score but he has shown that if he locks in he can be as good as any as far as running the team.

I must have started tons of threads staring Nate, but Nate is clearly the answer for the Knicks. He is a damn good ball player. He's shown that he can get better and he has the confidence and heart to match that learning curve. He needs to continue to start no matter what for the remainder of the year. I bet the dude will make better strides with that experience. He should be the starting point guard for the Knicks.

ford has more pg intuition. he finds open men when you don't think they're open. and he's a leader. these are things one is born with and doesn't become.

nate is more of a scorer in a marbury mold but he's not making players around him better. tj ford does.

Ford=A starting point guard who runs a playoff caliber team

Nate=A combo chucking bench guard with less than average point guard skills

the difference is between the ears

as yogi said:

90% of the game is half mental. the other half is physical.

Ford is a real point guard and can run a team.

Ford doesn't waste his time practicing buzzer beating half court shots and dunks for a contest that he's no longer invited to.

I think nate is just naturally on speed. I bet he used to get in trouble a lot as a kid. We've witnessed his personality first hand as fans of the Knicks. Still I believe he is learning to slow down just so the rest of the people around him can catch up. I see him working refs, I see him keeping his cool when things get crazy on the court, and I see him telling guys what they should have been doing and how to do it on the deadballs. He may not be born to lead like John Connors in Terminator but I think the guy is born with something different then most men on this planet. I think its a case where he is what he is and finds what he needs to do to take his game to the next level.

When I see Nate I see Terrell Brandon more than Marbs. Marbs was always a power guard. Marbs game was always vanilla. Nate is way more elusive and tricky. Nate is also more the leader and personality than Marbs. Nate also has more courage and drive to make "great" more than just his nickname.

I talk Nate up a lot man but I truly think the Knicks need to end the discussion and give the man his due.

Oh yeah.......if Ford was healthy and on the Knicks right now instead of Nate......could he make these retards any better?

the difference is nate is durable, he doesn't break when he falls....

When TJ falls, this is what happens..

I mean damn, I have seen harder fouls with my kids playing nerf ball in the house...

this Joker is crying his ass off...

I like ford, never wish for anyone to get hurt, but this guy was bumping his gums today after scoring points while his team was up 20..

this league is full of talkers and posers... Kind of makes me sick....

tj ford is under sized but he more of a pure point guard pass first shoot second...but is always injured and i think he might lose his starting job to jose Calderon

nate is more a under sized combo guard of the bench most likey destined to be nuthin more

but even when gimpy, he is better than calderon. Calderon doesn't defend. Nate and jamal were blowing past him as if he were in cement boots. TJ is also a more creative passer than calderon, who really is just a facilitator, and that is Ok, but he really lacks the defense, speed, and creativity of a TJ ford..... Ford is just fragile.... breakable..

I would agree tht TJ Ford is a much better passer/disher -PG than Nate will ever be. If we could steal him - it would be a 'good thing'. I hope Calderon plays lights out for Toronto- and somehow -we land this guy.

He is tremendous when healthy.

I agree, but those healthy days for him are over.. this guy was not hit that hard at all by horford, he fell and he was crying, I mean balling. He is just too fragile at this point... I wish the best for him, but I was wondering why Milwaukee gave him up, especially when he had them playing so well.. now I see..

Hey youz two, I have had this trade Idea bumping around in my head: Eddy Curry for TJ Ford.

I think the Raptors might bite because Ford is a big health risk, and Calderon is a very good offensive PG.

A low-post presence is really what the Raptors need on that team, and with Bosh, Calderon, and all those shooters, Eddy wouldn't have the pressure of being the focus or the star, and the shooters would loosen up the interior for him. He could be himself in all of his-one dimensional glory.

Meanwhile, at least Ford is a really good PG which is not something that grows on trees. With Lee and Balkman on the break he can do some real exciting things. He can also get Randolph or whoever, easy looks.

Big risk for both teams, but I have a feeling it is feasible.

oohah

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

interesting idea, but not sure TOR would be interested in clogging up the lane w/another post player... i think what they need is a big physical guy up front who can watch Bosh's back & defend the paint... they have enough scorers on their team... plus Curry makes more over the term of his contract than Ford does.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Nate is still very young in this league... he has improved steadily... I really see a I bright future for him... and if you haven't noticed he is starting to get leagure wide props from opposing GMs.

I think Curry would be their only post player. Bosh isn't really a post player.

I doubt Toronto would go for it, but you never know...

Word. He was ballin pretty hard. Medically he might get himself traded again.

Isiah loves to take those chances with players. I doubt they would trade Ford but if they did would anybody take him? Toronto if anything could use a Balkman or a Najara type player off the bench.
