Play and feature Eddy Curry30-34 minutes every night as main guy and start David Lee----Lee will help Eddy Curry. I already know what Zach can/cannot do and we are not winning. IF we can get CURRYS value back up to where it was last year end of year--we get something accomplished. NOTHING comes of playing Eddy 10 minutes and he needs to be in best position to succeed--that is playing with Lee. Also Balkman Chandler and Collins have to play consistent minutes--if that is at the expense of Q Rich/Jones--does it matter? Nate is not starter material--he is good energizer player off of bench--he can get exploited as starter 1 good game 1 bad game. When you are bench player either you have it that night or you don't. Play 10 guys featuring Curry as the main guy to raise his value---dont let jamal play 44 minutes anymore--waste of his knees and other players time. I do not care about W+Ls--more Ls are beneficial--need to start planning for off season. Playing Curry's value down does nothing.

Briggs- you are right on target- I wouldn't ice Zach though- I would perhaps alternate them- almost like a platoon. At least for a few games and see if one or the other can regain form & value.

Crawford should have been traded at the deadline- we could have gotten a first rounder & ending deal back from a team in contention. Agree on not burning him out/injuring him.

What about Isiah?
How he will survive doing what you propose?
What are you planning about the sails-man?

Briggs, that's a path rooted in logic. So of course it won't happen here.

Expect more backstabbing from Isiah, players quitting, Randolph pouting and Crawford breaking down as he tries to carry the team.

The only real solution is to fire Isiah and give Herb Williams this mandate.

cryz--I think what the upper management/owner want is some kind of 4-5 game winning streak at ANY point to say--look at this--we are on our way.

Ideally they'd want that followed by a major injury so that they also had an excuse for the subsequent losing.

Play Morris, Mardy, Balkman and Chandler sit Q and see what they can do. Just buy Mebury and Bjggie-fat JJ already to clear roster space. End of the season let fast Freddie expire, try to trade ZeroBO and take it from there. Curry, we know what we can get out of him and how to do it and he won't make a stink like ZeroBo.

Curry doesn't deserve the minutes he does get, so I wouldn't go out of my way to give him more or to feature him. I would give more minutes to the Morris and Chandler. Assuming they are bringing it in practice and playing hungry.

Play eddy to raise his value? Is he like a used car? If he plays good, why trade him?

Because he can't sustain it? Is that what we think? Think other GM's don't know this? I mean if its true, then we smarter than the GMs in the league that have a bit more info?

On the other hand many of us knew Jerome was garbage and Zeddy would never work.

Maybe im wrong?

I think the Knicks should do the opposites and send Curry to have his shoulder operation and show case Zach.

Zach
Lee/Morris
Balkman/Chandler
JC/Collins
Nate

That should be the rotation.

I think the situation is one of two need to be traded- Eddy or Zach

Eddy might be easier to move, but we need to show that last year was not an anomaly

Logic would say that other GMs know this. Yet, every time I play fantasy baseball, some guy gets hot for 2-3 weeks and other players pay double the guy's value. If the guy slumps, he's worth half. So, my general statement, is that the majority of people have narrow vision when it comes to these things, so it's not unreasonable to think that some of the NBA GMs can be fooled. The trick is if you get Eddy's value to near what it was last year, then trade him for what seems like a "bargain" at that time. Works every time.

Of course, this only works if you have confidence in Eddy Curry to put up respectable numbers if force fed.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I disagree. I think you play Zach and get his value up because I think he can net you more than Eddy. Zach has more of a track record and his offensive game is too tempting for teams. The key for Zach is to show that he gets along well with everyone and that he competes hard every night. Everyone knows Eddy can't rebound or defend. At least Zach can rebound and he actually complements nicely with Lee. I think Thomas is breaking down Eddy right now the way Larry Brown liked to do with players. The message will hopefully get through to Eddy that he will only get more time once he starts hustling and playing better defense. If he doesn't show any progress then he keeps playing 10 minutes.

You are wrong BRIGGS you want to increase Curry's value then you have to force feed him. Unfortunately the Kncks can't force feed him hamburgers which he would rather do then be given the basketball. Lee has value and what the Knicks have to do is play Randolph and Curry and make sure they get atleast 15-20 shots a game. You want to increase both players output and winning is not a question here at this point losses are the most valuable commdity if you are Knicks fan. Lee we all know what he brings to the table. The Knicks need to find takers for Curry I am convinced at the end of the season he will be on the Miami Heat. Riley might be the only one who could get Curry in shape and increase his out put on a consistent level,Riley might be the only one who might take a chance on him. Randloph needs a ticket out of town too. Hopefully they bring picks back for them. Isiah is bitch slapping Curry to decrease his output much as possible and he is making Curry less desirable in any trade senario. Basically Isiah is screwing the organization again this time by not givng Curry run.

What I would like to see is Curry being traded for atleast a top 10 pick in the draft and hopefully the same with Randolph. This way the Knicks will have an opportunity for 3 first round top 10 picks. What I would like to see with the picks is a SF, Center and a Point Guard out of the draft.

My ideal senario would be hopefully land the top pick and get Beasley, Grab Bayless with a pssible Curry tade, and Get Thabeet with a poissible Zach trade. Its such a shot in the dark and this team is in need of a overhaul in the worst way. There is no way they should comeback next year with the same players on the this team only ones that should be back are Lee, Balkman, Morris and Chandler. These are the only players I want back next year.

Personally, I would like to see Crawford moved- despite his 43 pts - he brings too many turnovers, obvious telegraphic passes, a real lack of ball handling and a tremendous inability to penetrate- in other words - he will never be a point guard and is nowhere near Gerlad Wallace, Jason Richardson, Kevin Martin and other premier shooting guards- not to mention Michael Redd. I would say after watching him for the last 3 years - he is the one player - that has failed the most.

In my view - the backcourt is the real weakness of the Knicks. I think Curry would be servicable till his contract runs out - he is passing the ball out of the post much more, if he can be a tad more patient before going to the hole - he will be a valuable piece for the Knicks going forward -even if he averages 13 pts/6 rebounds in 20 minutes. He can occasionally play defense if properly motivated - as seen by the few 4 blocks in a game performances -Chicago. Plus he brings a valuable intangible - which is putting teams into the penalty very quickly- Philly - and also last nite with Bargnani (3 fouls in like 4 minutes)- we took away a good 3 point shooter and that helped toward the end of the game.

He is useful when the opposing team doesn't have a Chris Bosh/Dwight Howard type of offensively gifted center. I think this is the right approach with Curry. Keep benching him and have him watch Randolph play - till he 'gets it' - he needs to rebound better, he needs to develop better range than Ben Wallace's patented 2 fooot jumpers and most improtantly he needs to be quicker. Although I know people are tired of Curry's ineptitude - his upside is way more than Crawford -and of the two - I would keep Curry.

Randolph is by far the best player on the Knicks- that is finally becoming obvious. Although overpaid- he does bring one very improtant facet to the Knicks - a consistency in shooting (46% FG%)and rebounding. He has definitely been the steadiest of all the Knicks and actually has the least turnovers -especially when compared to Lee/Crawford. he is also passing the ball much more (especially to Lee-who benefits from the double team on Zach).

I can see a two headed center of Curry/Randoph putting up about 30 pts and 15 rebounds a game. Lee adding another 10 pts and 10 rebounds -so your front court would/should be able to deliver about 40 pts and 25 rebounds consistently. You can't trade either of them for anyone decent - so fine for two years -you play 20-30M for the center position if they can consistently get you that type of production.

Lee has been the most vexing. For all his production - he does really stupid stuff on the inbounds passes, bad passes (stupid behind the back passes)-Lakers, Philly, Milwaukee was just some of the many games. He consistently runs up court - with his back turned (has he never learned to run backwards - so he can see the break!??). He leads the Knicks in the dubious distinction of having his shot blocked more than almost any other player in the league. Yes - he gets his share of 'free' baskets or tip ins and stuff - but nothing that Balkman or other players couldn't do. The only promising thing about him is he is developing a shot - but his defense is also very suspect. I am pretty sure that Balkman would give equal production in rebounds and points- and also play better defense.

If you could only get a backcourt that delivers 30 points, 12 assists between the two guards- now your talking!! Hopefully - we don't trade Steph and Malik and let them expire . Take a chance and trade Mardy Collins+ James to Toronto for TJ Ford (not like they need him). Mardy is a complete bust and has to go.

I think the Knicks would be even worse with out Curry and Randolph. Q Rich, Crawford, Jeffries, Collins, Chandler, Balkman, Robinson, and probably Lee are all BAD shooters. It is amazing -that among 15 players - other than Randolph - we don't have one consistent shooter.
