Commissioner David Stern is an avid fan of former Suns owner Jerry Colangelo and brought him into clean up USA Basketball. It's no secret around the league Stern will lobby for James Dolan to bring in Colangelo this summer.

During All-Star festivities in New Orleans, Colangelo told The Post he would be interested in interviewing for the Knick job if it became open. Stern said in the Big Easy he was "optimistic" about the Knicks' fortunes for next season.

Meanwhile, Dolan appears shell-shocked. According to a source who attended the technology summit in New Orleans Saturday, Dolan was asked his feelings on the state of the Knicks as he was walking from the panel. Dolan said, according the source, "I'm not commenting on the Knicks and I'm not commenting for a long time."

If James Dolan does keep that piece of human garbage Isiah Thomas, who in the hell would attend a game next season? Wouldn't attendence drop like 30-40%?

At the same time, if James Dolan went ahead and hired Jerry Colangelo, wouldn't attendence go up? Especially if the Knicks add a promising Rookie in the Draft?

If Dolan used logic, wouldn't the Knicks be in a better situation right now?

Maybe Dolan's making enough money right now from the Knicks that he DOESN'T want to do any of the long-term rebuilding Colangelo would probably want to do. I bet a lot of people bought Zach jerseys last summer and those same people will buy the jerseys of whatever problem star we get this summer.

Sorting goods stores in norther NJ, like Modell's, which used to stock half-Nets/half-Knicks now stock ZERO Knicks merchandise. You couldn't buy it if you wanted to.

Seriously, what Knick jersey would you wear? They have no marketable players. Some bad teams at least have some likeable players. What player on the Knicks can you really root for? They are all a bunch of *******s!!

Lee/Nate/Balkman are the only Jerseys people should wear.

I honestly don't get the love for David Lee, Nate Robinson and Renaldo Balkman on this board.

Why?

People like

a) young players
b) hustle players
c) short players
d) white players

Lee, Balk and Nate... 3 out of 4 aint bad.

you are correct, the knicks are still making the 2nd most money in the league(lakers are first).
