I've been blessed to be a Uconn fan--so I do have a basketball blanket to fall back on--but what has become of OUR NY Knicks is such a huge travesty. We have ONE good young player---David Lee and a good 7th man in Nate Robinson--that is it. No Isiah Thomas clone who spews on this forum can tell me otherwise. Even our BEST guys couldnt start on some teams in the league. What else to say?

I actually believe that all of the young guys outside of Morris will be around in the league a long time.

I think Mardy is the only one who would ever have a chance at being an all-star. His stretch of games at the end of last season were spectacular and its a crime that he hasn't been given a chance to take over the point.

Nate, Lee, Balkman, are solid bench players for any team. Chandler is a mystery to me. He was extremely solid in the Summer League and is a young guy with great size for his position.

Every veteran on the team but ZBo is below average, and ZBo can only be great if he's teamed with a defensive force at the 5.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

David Lee ain't that good? Good enough that any GM talking with the Knicks start with Lee or want Lee included. Good enough for Colangelo and the Olympic committee. Maybe your definition of good ain't that good.

David Lee is a solid backup PF. That's it. So is Ronny Turiaf and Reggie Evans. I'm not saying Lee is a scrub but some of you make him out to be the second coming of Charles Oakley. Lee is just the best player on the worst team in the league. Big deal.

In order for the next GM to get rid of contracts like Zach Randolph, Eddy Curry or Quentin Richardson, he will HAVE to include David Lee.

Colangelo had those two guys lined up just in case Lee couldn't make it to the practices.

I hear you Briggs. Its so sad, there is no hope. Im a Giants fan so at least I was blessed with a superbowl championship this yr. But it stings real bad how bad the knicks are and how much we are at the mercy of such poor ownership & managment. How the knicks are only about making money rather than winning championships.

I don't think im cappable of rooting for another team so I don't know what to do except just not care.

what the hell is your definition of the type of player you would want to keep on your team?

The dude has made himself better each year in the league. He's a tireless worker. He shares the ball. No locker room hissy-fits. Low salary.

No one has anointed him to threaten to make the all-star team. No one has said that he is an absolute starter.

But he is a damn good player, and if you don't think being asked to be on the practice team against the Olympic guys is anything special, well, that's your misinformed opinion.

you are an excellent evaluator of basketball talent. Obviously all of those other GMs who keep asking about Lee in any trade with NY are waaaaaayyyyyy off point.

Lee is not a a leader, nor a star, nor the first or second option.

Lee is a solid foundation player that every championship team has. Solid rebounding, fundamental passing, runs the floor or starts the break, etc!!!

you don't build around him but he is a starter quality player.
