Sorry if this was posted before. No link because he said it on NBA Coast to Coast. They were talking about the past couple of trades and what might happen in the next two days. It was actualy funny cause the guy interviewing him asked if any other superstars were going to get traded and Bucher was like, "do you count Eddy Curry as a superstar." The other guy said no and laughed. Then Bucher said Curry could go to Miami for expiring contracts.

Chad Ford has an article up on it also:

Wow...I wasn't watching coast to coast, but I just started a thread stating that Curry must be a goner........

For those without Insider:

New York Knicks
Isiah Thomas continues to say it's unlikely the Knicks will do anything significant before the trade deadline, but chatter around the league suggests otherwise. Multiple sources say that Miami has interest in Eddy Curry. The Heat can offer Jason Williams' expiring contract in a straight-up deal. Or, if the Knicks want players back, they could try to work in a third team like New Jersey, which is trying to find a new home for Vince Carter.

If New York does decide to break up the Zach Randolph-Curry tandem, which direction will it go in? If the Knicks were to erase Curry's deal from the books, they'd be staring at roughly $15 million to $20 million in cap room in summer 2010 -- when LeBron James & Co. become free agents. If they trade for Carter, they lose that cap flexibility but immediately get a player who could help them make a late playoff push in the East.

If the Nets could work out this deal, and essentially erase Carter from their books, they'd be staring at about $15 million to $20 million in cap room this summer. It's a slam dunk for them. As for Miami, Curry isn't a great rebounder or defender, but he can score in the paint and, at 25, still might have some upside. If Pat Riley can't get anything out of him … then no one can.

Also of note, it appears that a few teams also have broached the possibility of acquiring Stephon Marbury if the Knicks are willing to take back a long-term deal. Marbury's contract expires after next season, and a few GMs say it's possible that a team might be willing to pawn off a bad long-term contract (that of the Nuggets' Nene or Kenyon Martin, for example) in return for Marbury.

screw vince carter, trading curry for cap space would be the first good move isiah made (then again, it is because of his bad moves that he made the move but you get my point). VC has totally mailed it in at this point, NO WAY i want him on this squad with these other idiots (jerome james, z-bo, etc)

if the only way to unload Curry or Zach is for expirings at this point, then fuggit, that's what we gotta do... Isiah's genius plan failed miserably... time to move on & cut our losses.

Now the Vince Carter rumors have started.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/s ... ets-080219

Multiple sources told ESPN.com that talks with the Indiana Pacers regarding a Carter-for-Jermaine O'Neal swap were dormant, but not dead, after the Nets spent nearly a week devoting their attention to the Kidd deal with Dallas.

Another source said there had been preliminary discussions on a three-way trade that would include, among other things, Carter going to the New York Knicks, Eddy Curry to Miami and the expiring contracts of Jason Williams and Ricky Davis to New Jersey.

I'd just hand in my Knicks fan card.

That move would clearly confirm this board's suspicion regarding Thomas being concerned with his job security more than the future of this franchise.

the funny thing is: we all know Thomas isn't going anywhere. ever.

it's gotten to the point now where the optimists (mr earl) think isiah will be fired. the pessimists know better. there is no hope. dolan would probably like to get carter because he thinks it'd be sticking it to the nets somehow. he doesn't realize we'd be rebuilding for them. because he's a fat idiot toad.

This guy is a complete moron if he's endulging himself in business politics by sticking it to the Nets, especially now that they got rid of Kidd. Thorn would just laugh at that, while knowing he got the better end of the deal.

Who ever gets Vince/O'neal via a trade between NY, IND, NJ is the clear loser with no cap space in sight. If history repeats itself, its the Knicks.

Curry & filler for JO? where do i sign? that knocks off a year of cap off our payroll not to mention we get the better player... the only way u can knock that trade is if we have to give up D Lee or a pick in the process.

that's what people said about Camby. he's infinitely better than any player we've had since Ewing.

he could stay injured for the remainder of his contract & i'd still be OK w/the deal... i wanna clear cap if at all possible & get this porous defending frontcourt outta here ASAP... either one would be fine with me, or, or if possible both... just as long as we're not ADDING any more longterm cap in terms of years (not dollars), it's fine with me... at least w/JO u have the potential to achieve those 2 ends.

just curious but why do you want to hold onto Eddy at this point? i realize he's still young & got some talen't but wouldn't you rather see us draft a future star G or SF who can become the face of the franchise w/our lottery pick & put him alongside JO, D Lee & whoever we sign w/our MLE?
