so there isn't a pure pg in the top 10?

We honestly have too many holes to fill- but it sure would help if we could get a player like a chris paul or deron williams.

Outside of Ewing, we have never been able to get the true franchise talent in the draft.

More than the Celtics last year hoping to get the #1 pick last year- this franchise needs to get a top flight franchise changing talent.

Dolan and Isiah certainly don't deserve it- but the fans need it.

i don't think kevin love is top-10. i'm not sure about bayless being above derrick rose. haven't seen much of griffin, PSYCHO T from UNC i'm tempted to say he doesn't have what it takes to dominate on the next level, love eric gordon, 9 sounds about right for thabheet, love bill walker he's got swag.

briggs, two random players, thoughts on tyrese rice and aj price? how do you see their skills translating to the league?

also, a guy to keep on an eye on down the road -- rakim sanders from BC. shooting guard who knows how to score, can rebound, plays hard. true freshman out of providence, good size, i think he'll be the next big thing at BC in the troy bell-craig smith-jared dudley-tyrese rice chain of succession

Tyrese looks like he has a chance to be a solid 3rd or 4th G for a team in the NBA--a little smaller version of cutino mobley probably a very high 31-38 range

aj is probably a mid first round pick either this year or next year he lacks just a little bit of athletic ability/explosion that would put him in the high lottery range 17-26 range

Kevin love does not run fast enough he does not have good lateral quickness he bullies/overpowers players in CBB where he can get leverage kind of like that kid from notre Dame--i dont see him being able to do that in the nba-- he does have very very good post moves tough very good rebounder
speed/diversity in the nba will become more of a premium for a F

briggs, are you ranking gordon so low because of the recruiting scandal?

personally, i'd love to get derrick rose. i'm a little scared of beasley for some reason. i'd take any kind of pass first pg or shotblocking f/c though. or really just any blue chip talent that didn't have a horrible attitude.

1. Michael Beasley==KN ST F
2. Jerryd Bayless-- AZ ST combo guard
3. Brook Lopez--Stan F/C
4 Derrick Rose--Memp combo G
5 Blake Griffin--Okla F
6 Darrel Arthur--Kansas F
7 Tyler Hansbrough North Carolina F
8 Eric Gordon--Ind combo
9 Hasheem Thabeet C Uconn C
10 Billy Walker Kan ST wing

Derrick Rose is a pass first pg, not a combo guard. His potential is off the charts and he has a great attitude. Personally, if I could pick anyone from this draft class to add to the Knicks, it would be Derrick Rose. Tyler Hansbrough has NO CHANCE of going top 10. He will probably be a solid pro, but he is more of a good role player than star. Bayless and Lopez both are top 10 guys but I think you have them to high.

My list would be more like:

1. Michael Beasley
2. Derrick Rose
3. Eric Gordon
4. Donte Greene
5. Brook Lopez
6. Danilo Gallinari
7. Jerryd Bayless
8. Blake Griffin
9. Darrell Arthur
10. Hasheem Thabeet

It would be slighty different if you were going purely by draft stock and where they would likely get chosen. DeAndre Jordan will go top 5, and I still don't necisarrily think Griffin and Arthur enter this year.

I disagree FULLY about your assertion that Derrick Rose is a combo G. He is a pass first guard playing in an outside shooting system that has a ton of ball movement, which in effect limits his opportunities for assists. He has shown on many occassions this year the potential he has running an NBA team, especially with his passing. If you are going to get on him for something, then get on him for his defense.

My Top 10 and I'm only doing college players since I haven't seen foreign guys play.

1. Derrick Rose
2. Michael Beasely
3. Eric Gordon
4. Hasheem Thabeet
5. Brook Lopez
6. OJ Mayo (I personally am not enamored with him but he will get drafted high)
7. Jerryd Bayless
8. Donte Green (reminds me alot of Tim Thomas but scouts salivate over his "potential"
9. Roy Hibbert
10. Blake Griffen

Brooks Lopez - I saw him play a lot last year. I think he and his brother are bums! I caught him once this year and I didn't see much of an improvement.

I probably need to see them again, but can I get a scouting report on this guy from somebody?

Good scorer from the post, has a pretty good midrange jumpshot, good rebounder, plays defense, does alot of the little things on the court. He's a tough guy to compare to, he's a very solid frontcourt player, definitely a starting PF in the NBA.

I desperately want to see Michael Beaseley play because I haven't been too impressed with Derrick Rose. But I REALLY like Hasheem Thabeet.

I am not sold on brook Lopez, but I do think that Darrell Arthur will be a player in this draft. The guy is a ball player... I still like derrick rose and Thabeet..

Tyler Hansbrough too
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

I go to stanford so I've seen every game...brook is definitely a top 5 talent. his brother robin isnt as good (probably better defensively, but not close on offense and isn't as smart a player). brook got a triple double as a freshman last year (with 10 blocks) and he's been close to unstoppable this year...the pac-10 is small but he's seeing a lot of double teams and has been improving his passing. The other thing that makes him so hard to guard is that he's a good shooter with college 3pt range. he's athletic but doesn't look that fluid out there...i'd compare him to a duncan-type player....probably won't be as good as duncan, but he can score from the post, shoot, rebound, block shots, and play good defense.

I can see Derrick Rose being our pick, assuming Isiah is still here, because of the Chicago connection. You know he is from the south side of Chicago..blah blah blah

I'm not so sold on thabeet...he's had a nice stretch but I would put him towards the bottom of my top 10 for now. I also think hansbrough's lack of athleticism is gonna hurt him and push him to a mid-late first rounder (same with kevin love). Bayless and Budinger on AZ are solid but I wouldn't put bayless at #2 overall. I also think mayo will jump up in pre-draft camps. I think the top is gonna go:

1. Beasley
2. Rose
3. Lopez
4. Gordon
5. Jordan
6. Bayless
7. Mayo
8. Greene
9. Griffin
10. Thabeet or Collison

Also after watching us lose to AZ state last night, one of the guys to keep an eye out for is james harden...he's a super talented and athletic freshman, if he keeps playing well and az st make the tourney, he might be a lottery pick

I could see the heat picking up rose..imagine them running a team of rose, wade, wright, marion, and maybe haslem? a bit small but that team can run, finish, and defend very well....theyd be even better if they could pry jefferson or carter from NJ for expirings..

IMO, Tyler Hansbrough = Carlos Boozer

Everyone saw Boozer as unathletic, but what he did was dominate one of the best conferences in college bball. Hansbrough is doing the same and has elite strength like Boozer did. I think he's really gonna surprise people.
