The sooner we EMBRACE this the better we'll be

The 2 players(Lee and Balkman) most here feel are redeemable and the rest of the league does more than likely are pieces for keeps, while we turn our mix of HYDROGEN and OXYGEN players into WINE. ROTFLOL @ us. We call up teams to make trades and say....

"Hey we got a great package to offer but for starters Lee nor Balkman will be included in any deals sorry those are our keepers. We're trying to acquire pieces to put around them."

"Hey Clippers we'll offer you Curry, Crawford, and Jeffries for Brand and Kaman."

"Hey New Jersey this is a no refusal offer Zach and Nate for Carter and Marcus Williams."

"Hey Philly we have some hometown gems to offer up plus Malik, Mardy, James, Chandler for Miller and Reggie Evans."

HOW F'N Ludicrous do we sound? Not to mention Lee and Balkman are role players who are pretty close to redundant players so we have to find a STUD point guard, STUD guard, STUD small forward and STUD center without tanking because these same fans want us to win as many games as possible.

Mine is actually a little different than Cosmic's his is suggesting no matter who we bring in here playerwise(sans Howard, Lebron, Kobe) they won't change this mess.

Mine is suggesting holding onto to Lee and Balkman, trying to find pieces to go with them while not tanking and acquiring high draft picks, won't work.

Do you need a tall glass of STFU?

Its pretty boring in Knick land. Can we talk about anal probing instead?

really true, no one is asking for brand and kaman for curry. you know that. but what we are suggesting, zach for JO. Is not far fetched, and are the kind of deals we will most likely get. I would do that type of deal. as far as zach and nate for carter and marcus williams.. LOL.. I wouldn't do that trade either. Carter is shot and nate is better than marcus williams at this point. so what are you trying to say here.... come on man, we know we don't have much to offer, thatis why I say keep lee and balkman and try to move everything else, even if we get back much less in the talent end..

OK TKF I feel Ya(no homo). I'm still not going for the Zach/J.O. but I better not get the sense fans will jump off bridges if we do decide to gut at .07ct on the dollar. If we do, prepare to lose a little while longer at the same time. I also don't want to acquire players skewing who we should take in the draft.

I am ready to gut at 07ct on the dollar, as long as we don't throw lee and balkmn in that mix..

agreed tkf... u don't use D Lee & Balk as throw ins just to unload salaries same way u don't use our 1st round picks... if u have to get lesser value in exchange for our vets in order to clear some cap space or replace them for players that help balance out our roster, i have no problem with that... there's only a few fans around here who would oppose it.

we need to focus on using that lottery pick this offseason wisely & building around whoever we get... D Lee & Balk should be parts of that longterm vision if u ask me.

Spill The Wine - Dig that Girl

Perhaps embracing a more informed analogy would be a better idea. Besides, Hydrogen and oxygen make water, not wine. It is time to investigate this ambitious, but flawed, basketball theory. in a more scholarly setting...

(SFX: bell) Mr Stedenko: "class is in session, class...?"

The right balance of basketball skills means that the winemaker general manager nailed it. He navigated the wine through all the obstacles: the collegiate environment as the grape grew on the vine, picking the mature grape at precisely the best available slot, selecting only the most perfect grapes to draft, pressing the juice of the grape out in the right manner during Summer League, blending different grapes in the right proportion to get the right taste, letting the wine ferment just long enough to get the desired sweetness between veterans and rookies, stirring (and motivating) the wine in the right manner, changing the wine from one kind of barrel to another (trades and free agent signings) after just the right amount of time, bottling the wine at the right time (keeping the best bottles the longest), and not selling it (at fluctuating Madison Square Garden prices) until its ready...

or until the trade deadline passes, whichever comes first

one more thing, a pop quiz will be held tomorrow
once a knick always a knick

Actually - it has been the other way around-- in truth.

For example- the NY beat writers (who needs enemies) - went out of their way for days and days to let the 'public' know that the Bucks 'turned down' the trade for Zbo. Of course- like Iraq and weapons of mass destruction or the Iranian Nuclear bomb program - no retraction or apology will be forthcoming. Instead - a small blurb was released stating that - in fact it was Milwaukee - who approached the Knicks for a trade WANTING Zbo - but it was the Knicks who turned down the 'deal'. Another example - was Sacramento- again our good enemies the NY beat writers - were in a frenzy about how the knicks approached Sacramento for Ron Artest- it finally cae out -again - that Isah wants nothing to do with Ron ron - having plenty of experience with him while at indiana - so it seems that Indiana, Chicago and Sacremento have something in common - they realize that Rons talents do not out weight his headcase. As time proved and truth sought daylight - it was apparent that Sacramento has been and is still trying to move Ron Artest. If one checks True Hoops on ESPN or HoopsHype - there is a link to a column that has an interview with Ron's agent. Who feels that Ron's "value" is 14 million dollars a years and is being 'grossly underpaid'. This is a guy who is a Michael Vick pit bull clone - has a definite risk profile and can not be a good 'locker room influence' on a bunch of really good rookies- much less the rookies that the Knicks have!!. In short- the knicks said no thanks again.

it was only a short time ago (like two weeks ago) when Crawford -who at the time was shooting 46 percent -had a lot of interest from other teams. Obviously Crawford - not wanting to leave NYC - promptly tanked the next 6 games and shot a miserable 33 percent since then - and all the interest has waned.

But in short - thats at least 4 players -Lee/Balkman/Crawford and Zbo - that there was serious documented interest for in terms of trades from other teams to NY. I would agree- that many teams feel that the Knicks are under extreme pressure - so why not try to see if Isiah would be as dumb or corrupt as Chris Wallace. Hey- instead of two good players and a first round upper echelon draft pick (Chicago) - why not trade Pau for two low round picks and a bench player and a 7 foot Euro guy - who will be the next Darko Milic (if that)-- and you wonder WHY Popovich is saying that there is something very peculiar about this deal?!?!?

Anyway - the point is - most of the stories by Vescey, Isola and Berman - have out and out been false - and one wonders if they are too invested in 'the I hate Isiah and Dolan' after school club - to be actually doing their jobs- like reprting real news and not using their columns for out and out falsehoods as well as useless speculation that has not an once of consideration for our teams needs.

How convenient you to leave out the mentioning of Larry Harris contacting Pritchard about Z-Bo and then backing out of a deal. Of course no surprise here because obviously you're going to believe your hero's denial over what Pritchard said on the matter.

Therefore everything else you stated is SUSPECT!

I am not sure its relevant. As I said earlier- initially the news reports were as you said- later - almost two weeks ago - the retraction was there on Yahoo- and I had mentioned it on this forum. Surprisingly - it is no longer on Yahoo- any more and even a google search can't seem to find it.
Anyway - i finally found it- it is interesting - though - that you can find hundreds of the incorrect version - but can't seem to find the correct version. Of course - you have the right to think that the Bucks turned down the deal- but i don't see - the Kicks giving up Zbo for a bunch of scrubs.

BTW - as I said earlier - I was in Portland for a few years (2) and I do know for a fact - that the Portland police trunped up those charges on ZBO to get to his brother. Anyway - go to Portland and ask some African Americans who live there for most of their lives- they will tell yo the Portland Police have a less than stellar record.

The Knicks have all this problems because of Portland Police.
Yes. Now I know the reason why they suck for 8 years.
It is nothig to do with Isiah. NY beat writers destroyed this team and Portland Police covered them out. Bustards...

I would not call Balkman a keeper. If we were a 45+ win team, i'd be wanting to hold onto Balkman, but we're not a good enough team that we need to hold onto what this guy brings to the table. If there's a deal to be made that makes sense, pretty much everybody should be available.

David Lee is the closest thing we have to a solid keeper. I'd like to keep him. But like Balkman, or even Nate who i think is redeemable, these are guys other teams would want as well. I just don't want Isiah to be the one trading these guys. I don't trust him with the keys to the franchise as GM and he has shown to be a poor coach as well.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.
