This kind of deal might barely cause a ripple after the blockbusters we've seen lately -- and two sources close to the situation insist that it probably won't happen -- but New York and Chicago have apparently discussed a trade that would send Ben Wallace to the Knicks for Quentin Richardson, Malik Rose and Fred Jones.

Pardon our yawns, but it's difficult to imagine much of an impact on either team even if it does go through.

For the Bulls? I keep hearing that Wallace does expect to be relocated before the Feb. 21 deadline, which Chicago would undoubtedly regard as a form of addition by subtraction that creates more of an opportunity for rookie Joakim Noah. But that's about all it would be if these are the trade terms.

For the Knicks? Now that a seven-game losing streak has erased any of their playoff delusions, even in the East, Wallace sounds like little more than another past-his-best name for Isiah Thomas' collection.

The Bulls have fielded much more steady trade interest in another Thomas -- Tyrus Thomas -- but word is Chicago won't consider moving him now. Which makes some sense, since it'd be tough to get any kind of value for Thomas (as with most Bulls) because this season has been such a nightmare.

That's really all this stuff is rumors rumors rumors throw it out there and see what sticks.

But that kind of rumor is about right. He's old, he's breaking down, due for a major injury. Yup, sounds good to me. He's our kind of guy. The going rating.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Ben Wallace is done. He could provide leadership, but not much else anymore. Still....the Knicks get rid of Q-rich in this deal.

Isiah needs to do something. Either do what Miami did and try to at least tack on another starter........or look to try to get some cap relief or consolidation.

Sooooo... the Bulls get to dump more overpaid trash on us for our expiring, picks, and like Lee or something?

Oh HELL no.

Fire Isiah Thomas before it's too late!!!!!! (And in too late I mean 09 or 2010 are no longer viable dates to write down to be torn down and ready to build it back up properly)

Oh, and, whoever thinks Paxson would take Malik, Jones, QBrick for Wallace is on crack.

The trade would be Marbury's 09 expiring, our unprotected 08 1st rounder, and David Lee for Ben Wallace. You can bet on that.

There is one way I consider taking this trade.

Incoming Players
Chris Duhon
6-1 PG from Duke
5.9 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 4.0 apg in 24.0 minutes
Ben Wallace
6-9 C from Virginia Union
4.9 ppg, 8.7 rpg, 1.9 apg in 32.4 minutes
Outgoing Players
Jared Jeffries
6-11 SF from Indiana
2.7 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 0.8 apg in 15.7 minutes
Jerome James
7-1 C from Florida A&M
2.0 ppg, 1.5 rpg, 0.0 apg in 2.3 minutes
Quentin Richardson
6-6 SG / SF from DePaul
7.1 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.9 apg in 28.0 minutes

Wallace has 2 years left after this one. Duhon is a FA at the end of the season but a true PG.

Seems Starbury 1's are career killer shoes.

Kinda like Cinderellas glass slippers in reverse. Lace up a pairs and play on them and watch it all fall to sh!t.

Clock strikes 12 and the bentley turns to a Kia!

A healthy Wallace does help Eddy a lot, but that kills Dlees time as Zach comes off the bench?

Another terrible idea, but if I had to choose between Wallace and J.O'Neal I would choose Wallace absolutely.

Ben has a year less on his contract than Zach does.

Zach fits Chicago's need of a lowpost player bigtime.

How about Zach for Ben/Duhon?

It would be interesting to see Wallace, Jeffries, Collins, Balkman and Lee out there practicing jump shots.

i'd absolutely love that deal... address our frontcourt defense & perimeter D in 1 fell swoop... unfortunately like most appealing deals involving Zach i don't see why the other team would do it.

Only way I agree with that trade is if they add another youngin in that trade for us like Sefolosha or do I dare say DNic. We really don't rid of QRich's contract because they have the same length contract(Q and Ben). Also, you would really have to get rid of either Zach or Curry so as not to stunt DLee's playing time.

Yeah, ok, nice for us, but the question is WHY ON EARTH WOULD CHICAGO DO THIS?????????? That's what guys around here are saying. You guys just don't get it man.

You wanna come up with trade scenarios, that's fine. Just no more one-sided ones ok. If it doesn't work out for the other team in some capacity, any capacity at all, DON'T BOTHER POSTING IT. AND IF YOU POST A TRADE PROPOSAL - TELL US HOW IT BENEFITS THE OTHER CLUB. Otherwise, don't bother anymore guys, OK?
