"George wants out of Dallas
Posted: Monday February 04, 2008 08:07AM ET

Devean George, injured entering the season and mostly buried on the Mavericks bench since, said he's open to a trade in order to jump-start his disappointing season. George said before Sunday's game against the Detroit Pistons that, if his role remains limited, he would like the chance to play elsewhere in hopes of increasing his stock as an unrestricted free agent after the season.

Fort Worth Star-Telegra'

He started the season injured and is now obsolete in Dallas.

He is coachable, a high effort guy, good defender, and a three-point threat.

I would send Malik and 2nd round pick for him and call it a day...

why would you give a pick for that guy
come on man he's a bum
why pick him up
if you want to upgrade the sf position just tell qbum to retire and play balkman and chandler
we dont need another sf
we need a shot blocker and a real floor general

Sounds good to me. He could at least start for us and contribute immediately.

He'd fit right in. Another SF, who can only play one side of the ball.

I'm not too crazy about him, but when you're speaking of the Knicks, George is a clear cut upgrade.

HAHAHA. I think George is bad enough to contribute to us getting the #1 lottery pick this year. But our front court of Q, Zach, and Eddy are good enough for that anyway.

George is nothing special... i'd much rather see Wilson Chandler seeing some burn, but of course that makes absolutely no sense in the world of Isiah.

Devean George is a good player.

The Knicks are a joke. He is a major upgrade over Q IMHO. At the same time the Knicks are in absolutely no position to be making subtle trades like that. If the Knicks were over .500.....yeah make the deal for this guy.

At the same time......if you make a deal for this guy, he can give you Bobbi simmons/ ruben Patterson production.....the Knicks would need to take back that dude from Michigan State(not good with names), you know, the MVP of the Dallas/ GS series. The guy that carried Dallas then never played again. Him

Anyway, Isiah should be fired. No focus....where are we going? Isiah needs to make a deal......

Ok I'm flip flopping in my own thread......get Devean George for the playoff push! He will take us to the promise land! Ashamalomishouldaboughtahonda!

Speakin in tongues!

Go Isiah! Go!

Excuse me why is Chandler seen as this good player I really don't understand it he doesn't play he wasn't this superstar in college so what is am I missing here? George is not particularly good when your looking at a good basketball team operative word being good but when your talking about the Knicks who have mostly scrubs at the small forward position he could start for us.

I agree. Chandler was another huge reach by Isiah. It's getting kind of sad. Isiah is his own worst enemy when it comes to the draft. He wants to prove he's smarter than everyone else and has failed at that lately.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Isiah just isn't a good talent evaluator he doesn't know it when it comes to signing free-agents, he doesn't know it when trading, and he doesn't know it when drafting. Sure we have a few talented players and we got a steal in Lee but the rest I just shake my head at.

i don't think anyone's under the illusion that Chandler's a good player... the point is we really don't know what he can do cuz he hasn't gotten enough burn to show it yet... anyone who wants to pretend they know what his upside is right now based on some limited SL action & a few sporadic garbage minutes this year is lying through their teeth... why bother making a trade for a mediocre player like Devean George before we even see what our young kids on the roster can do? why not give Chandler & Balkman the full run at SF for the rest of the year & see what they can do? we ain't making no playoffs anyway so why not?

You want Devean George? A player who hasn't done **** since Shaq got him that big contract off of all his passes out of the double team? LMAO. When's the last time you heard of a player wanting out of Dallas? It's a country club over there. It's a level of professionalism most teams only dream about. Any guy that wants out of franchises like Dallas, Detroit, Phoenix and San Antonio needs his head examined.

Chandler and Morris aren't playing because Isiah doesn't give a damn about preparing for a future he knows he doesn't have. Chandler wasn't a bad pick. He could be a very serviceable back up small forward and until Balkman puts down the sticky green and develops a real jumper, they're pretty much on the same wavelength in terms of development.

The Knicks have a roster full of assistant coaches (another example of Dolan trying to be like his idol, Mark Cuban) but have minimal player development (unlike Dallas, where their army of assistants each have a clear, designated role and/or player). The coaching staff is by far the worst in the league. You're 14-34, going nowhere. The bulk of the minutes should be going to the young guys. Park Q's worthless, injured ass on the bench next to Steph, Jerome and Malik and split the minutes at the 3 and 4 spots between Chandler, Balkman, Jeffries and Lee. Randolph and Curry's minutes should depend on who has it going that particular night.

Don't let the stupidity fool you, there's no reason Chandler shouldn't be getting 10-12 minutes a game right now and upwards of 20 after the all-star break which is all Devean George would be worth anyway, provided he's not face down at the buffet table with Eddy, Jerome and Zach.
