The Grizz are in money dump mode. They now have 3 young PGs- Conley, Lowry, Crittenton. I think Lowry is very attainable and the Grizz could throw him in just save a decent chunk of salary.

How about Malik Rose for Brian Cardinal and Kyle Lowry?

Cardinal and Lowry run 1 year longer than Rose. Because of cap situation, the net impact on our situation is negligible. Meanwhile the Grizzlies save roughly $7 million a year early. We get a nice PG prospect. It makes a ton of sense for both teams IMO.

Or to take it a step further- Mike Miller, Brian Cardinal and Kyle Lowry for Stephon Marbury. Grizz would shed the long term money of Miller and Cardinal a year early. This one is more in the 15 mil range of savings 1 year early. Now they may not be willing to part with Miller, but from the Knicks perspective this would be a nice player to acquire.

I think the first option I mention is more likely. What do you guys think?

I'd go for either Des. I've long been a vocal supporter of Lowry. The kid is tough as nails and knows how to lead a team. He's not a great basketball player but he's solid in every area. He's a PG's PG.

We could throw in Morris as a sweetner since he's expiring and young.

Or how about Morris+Jones+Rose for Lowry+Cardinal+Miller

That'd save them even more cash sooner.

That means that Brian Cardinal is destined to be a Knick.

Here we go again. Just because the Lakers and Grizz made moves, the pathetic Knick speculation just HAS TO begin immediately.

Umm, its a Knicks message board. This is what happens here. This is just an opportunity where there is a young PG that this team could use and we can actually give the Grizz something they want (some money relief). It barely hurts us cause we're so capped out for the next 2 seasons anyway.

jersey hustla what a weasel.

vdesai, couldn't agree more, i've been a HUGE fan of lowry since watching him in the big east tourny at nova. i wanted zeke to take him over balkman but what can you do. he is a ferocious defender, rebounds very well for a point guard, plays hard all the time, just tenacious all around. i'd LOVE to acquire him.

i think the fred jones move makes more sense, they save more money now as he comes off the books right away.

a lowry/crawford backcourt would be nice, and with marbury DONE for GOOD it is time to find a pointguard for the future, something mardy clearly isnt.

I think this is all interesting. As most people know, I REALLY want Derrick Rose, but if we can somehow get Lowry in here now, see how he plays the rest of the year as our startin PG then maybe he can be our PG of the future. If that's the case, I have no problem going with Lowry as PG and drafting someone like Mike Beasley instead, maybe Eric Gordon too.

It would be a much wiser use of our assets.

not bad deals- but we should be sellers in this market- lowry definitely fits that since he is young- I'd love miller, and he is kinda young, but if we could get him, I think I'd try to redirect him elsewhere- we've got to be thinking 3-5 years out.

We should be trying to sell crawford in this market.

Or someone like Hasheem Thabeet since we'll probably out of the top 3. If we could find a way to swipe Mike Miller too, things would start coming together a little balance wise.

Definitely about Thabeet but I think he's going to stay another year, these guys trust Calhoun bigtime and he's said he needs another year.

If we are anywhere in the 5-8 spot, I really hope we take a long look at Donte Green. I think he's going to be a huge player in this league, the guy has a great J and I think he'll put on more muscle which will allow him to do more things downlow in the post. I see him being a better all-around version of the Marvin Williams and Rashard Lewis of the world.

Donte Greene. I've seen him play a few times now. His jumper's money, no question about it. NBA-ready jumpshot right now. Reminds me a lot of Glen Rice, the way he loads it up and releases. When he's wide open, feet set, there might not be a purer shooter in college basketball right now. The thing is, what happens when he's not wide open and has to create a shot for himself? Whole different ballgame. Not nearly as effective. Doesn't put it on the floor too well yet at all. Has the ability to block a shot here and there which is nice, but the other important parts of his game - post-up offense, taking the ball to the cup, defense, rebounding, staying out of silly foul trouble - all need serious work. Definitely a player, and I know he's just a freshman but say we had the 5th pick, do we take this guy? Is he the next Glen Rice or the next Tim Thomas? It'll be interesting to see how he develops. I'll be watching everytime 'Cuse is on TV I can tell you that!

Memphis has Juan Carlos Navarro that has been bustin ass whenever he's played. Rudy Gay is for real.......

Mike Miller and Lowry are expendible.

Zach
Miller
Curry
Lowry
Craw
Nate"6th man is not a bad thing" robinson
Possibly keep David?

Oh **** yeah! Miller is MORE than and 3pt shooter. Guy sees the floor and his handle is above average......and he still gets 6 rebs. Not by cheating like Q does. One of my favorite players.....

Hey.....if Isiah is reading this.....see what you can do bro! That line-up could ignite a real playoff run and totally revamp our knick hearts.

Lowry is such a good point guard that they prefer to run the offense thru Mike Miller when Conley is down/out.

might as well stick with Nate.
the stop underrating David Lee movement 1. FIRE MIKE 2. HIRE MULLIN 3. PAY AVERY 4. FREE NATE!!!

Lies!

I didn't think the guy was gonna translate his game to the NBA. He proved me totally wrong.

Scumbags in Memphis drafted Conley. Then Conley goes down and even when Lowry is playing well....they bench him for Stoudamire. Lowry still contributed well splitting time. Then Conley comes back and Damon is waived along with Lowry still playing second fiddle.....

All I ask is to check out Lowrys game log. That kid can play. Memphis has a hard on for Conley.

Nate has been great and I wouldn't mind just giving him the team, but Lowry if tagged along with Mike Miller is a massive deal.

Isiah can't give up the pick, but if the Knicks get in the playoffs and advance? Sounds like Isiahs way to gamble.

Yeah -your right it is Rudy Gay (hmm- why did I do that ?).

Anyway-----

I definitely would prefer Rudy Gay to both the players. Don't get me wrong I think your evaluation is correct regarding Lowry and Miller- but Rudy GAY (got it right this time) - does something that neither of those players can bring and no one on the Knicks brings- the fearlessness to rise up and jam the ball on anybody. This causes havoc and suddenly its an easier game.

If the outside shooters aren't 'feelin' it - give it to Rudy in the post or FT line and in he goes for the jam or foul. If they collpase the middle - there is Randolph/Lee/Curry fr the easy basket. If they totally jam the paint - outlet to JC or Nat for the open shot. RG is incredibly verstaile and he can probably play defense- it would be like Wilson Chandler's potential fulfilled right NOW.
