New Jersey's Star-Ledger has reported that Jason's Kidd's agent Jeff Schwartz has asked Nets' President Rod Thorn to trade his client to a contender before February's trade deadline. The information was received from several unnamed league sources.

The problems continue to add up for Thorn as trading Kidd will not be easy if he wants to get even close to equal value in return.

"Right now things are going very poorly for us," Thorn told the Star-Ledger. "Historically, those are the times when you don't get offered what you might consider fair deals. And sometimes you feel that maybe you should do something to do something, but those are the times you have to be very cognizant and careful about what the results of your actions might be."

Kidd has been a blessing and a curse for the Nets. He's been a great player on the court, but he constantly has had his issues with trade requests, having coaches fired, and all that stuff with his psychopath wife.

I'd love to see the Cs get Kidd but I think it would be awfully hard to match the salaries unless they gave up one of the big 3 or had a lot of other teams involved.

don't know quickly the Blazers are looking to legitimately challenge but I'd love to see Kidd running with the kids in Rip City.

Raef's expiring + Webster + Jack and the Bulls 1st for Kidd.

from Portland and J Kidd's standpoint even if they don't advance this year next year you're looking at

Kind of hard to see 2 PGs on this Blazers team. He'd probably (Kidd) be a 3rd option after Roy/Oden. I think Kidd going to Portland may be obsolete, look for him to go to a contender.

I think he's going to headed to the Lakers somehow someway thus creating the most dangerous backcourt in the league.

IMO, they'd be the best team in the league with that backcourt tandem. Also, Kobe would easily surpass LBJ in PPG with Kidd dropping him dimes.

ah I think kidd saved that franchise. worth every bit of his baggage. smartest move possible that could have been made and thorn made it.

Kidd had his coach fired (once) cuz he thought the team was not well prepared. Sure they made the finals twice, but the team was divided.

Kidd for Marbury was a great trade anyway you look at it.

Look at kidd and what he did in Jersey vs. Marbury.

Kidd to Wizards for Gilbert Arenas and change? That deal would burst the Wiz into contender status. Remember Coach Jordan was the dude Kidd respected when he as Byron Scotts top assistant.

As for the Nets? Mix Agent Zero with Marcus Williams, Dick Jefferson, Boone, and sean williams next year, with Krstic an Boki still around.....makes for a decent reload especially with the possibility of them going to Brooklyn.

Knicks?........some how they get Vince Carter.....Isiah likes him......Vince seems to get along great with Crawford.....make it happen.

The last thing the Knicks need is to bring in players Isiah likes. Apparently, he has no taste. He liked Jamal (who I can somewhat relate to), Curry, JJ1, JJ2, and BuyoutBury. Isiah likes bums.

Wow, Kidd to LA would be scary. I would actually like to see Kidd get a chance and succeed, the guy plas hard, smart and wants to win.

Yeah I don't want him under any circumstance. Although he's better than any player we have he's an overrated triple double making no difference in the W column, past prime, milage to boot, aging malcontent.

I'll be honest with you--it wouldnt be a bad idea to trade for Jason Kidd the way the Knicks are. He's going to be good for 4 more years--he makes good players great. We are one of the few teams that can afford to do it $$$
