With tonights back to back they have a day off with another back to back. The infamous 4 games in 5 nights BS.

Tell Detroit and Washington to man the **** up!

can't wait to hear the "that's no excuse for them losing!" rants every time they lose a game on the back end of a back to back, followed up shortly by the "the other team was coming off a back to back" excuse when we win one from the usual cast of characters.

I am pretty sure Portland had a stretch in their winning streak where they had to play 4 games in 5 nights and nobody had them winning anything. McDyess was bitching about the 4 games in 5 nights yesterday.

Who's doing that? No one. Jeez, two wins and Isiah supporters come flying out of the woodwork.

Look, people make LIGHT of the "but we played a back to back so it doesnt matter we lost" situation Isiah has blanketed every loss with and his supporters willingly gulped down and spit back up.

THOSE same people never ever had a problem with a win that came at the expense of a team who had a hard road prior to running into us.

THEREFORE a new culture has emerged: "Sticking up" for the opposing team that lost to us when it was they who were on a back to back.

I think in that you're misinterpreting what people are saying and why they are saying it.

It's meant to make fun of Isiah Thomas' excuse list. Nothing more....

But if you want more, than fine... I can oblige

Fact: Knicks suck.
Fact: When they lose back to backs Isiah always starts whining about the schedule then tells us you shouldn't expect wins on back to backs or on road trips.
Fact: We just caught two exhausted teams both coming off of the worst of the worst - the 4 games in 5 nights on the road.
Fact: Isiah supporters act like we just kicked the hell out of the Spurs in the first two games of the NBA Finals.
Fact: We didn't. We won two games against two tired teams which is always Isiah's lame excuse which is why it's now brought to light, much like injury excuses of which Isiah always uses but it's okay to beat the Wizards on their 4th in 5 - missing 3 key players.
Fact: It doesn't matter if we lose on our back to back or beat a team on their back to back. A loss is a loss, a win is a win. We're simply making fun of Isiah Thomas and his lame excuses!
Big Fact: Nobody needs to be getting a BIG HEAD here over two measly wins in a season that's already over and done with.

So lets just leave it at that can we?

McDyess is a ****in bitch. I hear Mike Breen crowning him one of the good guys in the league.

Its well documented that the dude is a puss. Forget the surgeries. The guys is a tiney winey winey bitch.

Go Nate!

For professional athletes, back to back games are NO excuse whatsoever to lose. I see teams who thrive when they play back to backs or even 4 games in 5 nights b/c they take the cornered animal mentality.

Fatigue should NEVER be an excuse and I lost a lot of respect for Zeke and the team last year, when he especially started using it, and he certainly did if nobody remembers. He said it was the reason we lost to the Sixers in a one worded answer when someone asked "What's the reason you got killed by Philly?" His answer: "Tired."

The injury excuse is valid when your team comes together and puts together the best performance they can and come up short, but we seemed to be quitting at the end of last year, at times, so it was never valid for us.

Oh, I remember it. Remember when he said "Don't expect a win" when we embarked on a 5 game road trip? Remember him ALWAYS excusing losses due to "back to backs" because "they were tired". He even ripped the schedule early this year once already about back-to-backs. Then you have the coveted injury excuse.

He acts like we're the only team in the NBA to play back to backs, or road games, or get booed, or have injuries, or that have to face that really really scary Boston media!!! Yet, it's a monumental statement of progress if we clean up on a team with similar issues.

THIS IS WHY we make fun of him. THIS IS WHY when we face or beat a team who had a back to back we say "Yeah well they were on a back to back so the win isnt anything special for us."

It's done to MAKE FUN OF Isiah Thomas.

I can't believe that Isiah supporters don't see that and just think we're all a bunch of hypocrites when we bring it to light and laugh about it!

Wow that's a complete twist. Usually it's the apologists going nuts proclaiming back to backs so it's okay to lose, even when on some of those occasions, the other team was also on a back to back. Let's be fair here.

Cosmic I hope now you're seeing how Toxic our fan base really is. That's why I chose to get at you for posting that Jamal Crawford and even today the Nate-Rob Balk Lob video. Our fan base is clouded and sick in the head. The same fans who were saying blow this thing up 3weeks are the same ones claiming we have untouchables. That doesn't even make since. They're front runnin, bumpin their gums, pounding their chest like gorillas after two abberation wins.

Balkman helped sure. I wouldn't put all that much stock into these two wins though.

Detroit was on a 4th road game in 5 nights - had just played OT the night before - got into NY at about 4AM. We were rested and at home.

Washington had played the night before beating Boston in a tough game. We were rested and at home.

I just can't put much stock into such opportunistic situations. Let's see how we do against the Nets tonight since we're now the road team on a back to back and they're home and rested.

Detroit their next game man handled Toronto @ home while we let Toronto manhandle us @ home and Wash beat Boston back-to-back games. There's nothing we can take from these games other than the fact Nate may have showcased his value.

I don't see how that proves your point at all. Unless I'm missing something, your initial claim doesn't seem to match what TrueBlue actually said. This seems a fair cry from the "no excuses" claim. When the alleged "no excuses" claim comes up has often been because our opponents that beat us had a similar schedule.

Like I said, there seems to be some confusion as to the source of the rants. From my perception, the source of the rants are apologists nearly claiming that the games don't count because the Knicks were on a back to back.

4 games in 5 nights isn't an excuse by itself. You have to take into consideration, who they play, where and how hard they play.

The Pistons played at Dallas and San Antonio in their first 2 games and then played an OT game against Charlotte before arriving in NY sometime after we had all gone to bed Saturday night. The Pistons played as hard as they always do in the 3 previous games before taking the night off against the Knicks.

The Wizards played an overtime game at Atlanta before a home and home against Boston, the best team in the league. They won all 3 games before coming to NY completely spent. You don't win all those games if you aren't playing very hard.

The Knicks on the other hand, typically give questionable effort, get blown out at least twice with the starters getting rest and then cry about 4 games in 5 nights when they get blown out again.

bro, it comes from both sides of the coin... my point is i'm sick of the excuses either way... there are no excuses for a win or loss... u win or lose, end of story... every time i hear some idiot try to justify a loss because of the situation playing on the back end of a back to back it annoys me... it needs to work both ways too... u can't just excuse a loss for other teams using the same excuse you claim isn't valid when it comes to us.

Yes, in this thread, you pretty much defend Isiah, by attacking posters that bring up the 4-games-in-5-nights bit.

Maybe I missed something I don't know. Yet do you see my point behind why fans like me willingly bring up the other team's potential excuse? That's more the root of my post than calling you out for anything...just wanted to clarify why it's always brought up.
