Isiah Turning Down Fair Trades?
January 14, 2008 - 11:22 am

Sacramento Bee -
Numerous league sources have informed the Sacramento Bee that embattled Knicks coach Isiah Thomas has been turning down decent deals left and right.

He is reportedly dangling Jamal Crawford and has continually been reluctant to trade David Lee.

I'd be curious to see what some of the deals are that Isiah has turned down.

I think we need to move Crawford, and I'm not really sure why anyone is in love with the kid. He shows flashes every now and again, but he has never been on a team that has reached 36 victories which should tell you something.......

Taking bad shots that lead to transition hoops happens all the time if we can move him for an expiring deal or a draft choice it would be a great deal....

Keep Lee, Balkman, Nate that's really it here. We are going nowhere fast and if we can do a deal that will give nate some more minutes and we can keep losing getting derek rose would be great for the team.

Isiah IS banned...
If Dolan is in two minds about him why he will approve any moves?
I know this moron can do whatever, but looks like Isiah is on short leash

I agree with that. Those three guys are the core guys that you should be really reluctant to trade. Smaller contracts and draft picks would be great for Curry and Crawful.

Even though we might be gettting close to get Isiah replaced, I am still kinda scared that the next gm is going to try to continue to build around these loser baby bulls, curry and crawful. The firing of Isiah would really be bittersweet if that were to happen.

blow up the team, but I also said with the exception of a few players. Lee being one of them. I mean why be so annoying about this. Let me ask you this? do you want to blow up the team? YES, so I guess you are Ok with trading lee and balkman for kenny thomas and Abdur rahim, right? if not, then LOL at you...

see how idiotic some of you are sounding. If someone says keep this player, or that is a bad trade, than all of sudden they are on board for a 10-26 season.. give it a break bro. it is getting tired....

your attempt to call people out with no basis, is weak...

crawford is now the poster boy of the franchise.
lee is a close second.

both know how to handle the media and regurgitate the same corporate response question after question.

both guys are clean cut and without controversy.

they are the faces of the franchise right now.

You trade every player putting us in the best position to rebuild. I'd trade Lee for a first rounder(even if it's pick 30)/cap space, which I believe can be done. I'd trade Jamal for someone like a Lowry/reasonable fodder short/2nd round pick, which I believe can be done. Many Loving fans such as yourself would probably oppose such deals but not those of us who want every trace of evidence erased. I wouldn't be upset if Lee was kept but I'm in no way attached to any player on this team and not one who feels certain players are here to stay.

What the hell is a decent trade? "Fair" deals in the NBA are a misnomer because of the cap implications.

come on man, you are overreacting, you would trade lee for a 30th pick? what cap space is that going to get you? lee is still on his rookie deal. so you are going to replace a productive young plauyer, with another player who will make approx, the same money, but you have no idea of what you are going to get? lee has more value than that.... that would be just a dumb ass move if that were to happen. thank god you are not the gm.. Now I could see moving jamal for a player like lowry who fills a position of need and he is young and on his rookie deal. Now that makes sense if you could get an expiring along with lowry, but just to make trades and rid the few good players we have, just for the sake of it, is not smart bro..

That is why I take things said by fans like yourself, (I guess you are a s self procalimed hater elite)with a grain of salt. Read your post again and see how irrational it is...

Lee is on a team with no pg doesn't get plays drawn up for him and he gets you double figures at a high percentage.

Lowry, Childress are two guys that are very interesting and possess the makeup of team guys that don't rock the boat and would be very nice additions. If you want to give me a deal Crawford/Balkman for Warrick/Lowry I will take that.

Lee is one of the better players in the league there is a reason they wanted him for the jr usa team.

Curry can do some very nice things in the right situation I don't enjoy his game but utlized right he is a weapon look what he did against the spurs....

I would also like to see richardson shut down for the rest of the season to open up minutes for chandler, we should have just moved Morris to the bobcats for a second rounder if he is never going to play.

precisely. someone (artest/sac's gm) is upset that we won't trade them balkman, nate, lee and our unrestricted first round pick for artest & kenny thomas.

when was the last good trade the knicks benefited from? oak fir camby?

Thats what I was thinking. I mean of course other GMs are going to say they are offering fair trades.

I'd still be interested to hear some of the trades that Isiah has turned down though, I wouldn't put Isiah turning down Crawford for Kobe.

is it really the obivious around here, especially when some want to trade lee for the 30th pick in the first round just to get rid of any trace of the old knicks? come on... He made some good points, although they should seem obvious, reading some of the post around here, they aren't.

Isiah's turning down fair trades because he thinks we're not giving up enough in them!
