The G-Men are saving saving us by taking our minds away from this pathetic excuse of a basketball team, and no matter what, even if they don't make the Super Bowl, which they'll actually win, then it wont be too long until pitchers and catchers report and I'm quite optimistic about the Yankees.

No worries Knicks fans, the future is looking up.

I'm not going to be able to stomach much Baseball for a few years. That sport is practically dead to me. Much of my fondness for the game was the numbers. Now that all the numbers and records are roided up, I've lost a lot of interest. Who cares about baseball milestones anymore? Who cares about the HoF anymore? The commisioner, the owners and the media have all contributed to killing off this once golden goose.

What about watching a guy like Arod whose clean, break all the records? (I know HGH isn't tested for but I really don't think he takes that)

It's mind bogging for me that this was so wide spread in this non-athletic sport.
The laziness has no limits and with these multi-million deals it is growing to infinity...

However it can make sense too.
In hockey a player using this stuff can easily drop dead after one 40 sec shift.
The pulse is going to 200 and without being in excellent shape no one (even supper talented star) can play the game. You cannot give this NY Knicks half ass effort without being embarrassed and send to minors to work on you conditioning…

There are a couple problems with being an Arod fan.
One problem is that we will never know for sure who was clean and who wasn't.
The other problem is that Arod isn't that likable. I'm a Yankee fan so I have to live with Arod.

Even if I liked him, and even if he breaks the record as a Yankee, then its still breaking a record in a game that has been tarnished. Kinda like being the best boxer around. You're the best, but your sport has become a joke. Celebrating his record doesn't erase the mistakes of the past. It just covers them up. The game is on life support and one man setting a record is going to bring back the joy? It won't for me. Because it matters what records he is breaking. If someone breaks a phony record, where is the acheivement? I don't know... it'll take some time before Baseball clears its good name with me.

Everyone is using some type of supplement......they also don't give a **** about the fans...why should they? Its a business as they like to say.

Also.....can you blame a pitcher that can pitch fine for the minors from taking stuff to put 5-10 more miles on their fast balls for the lottery payout that would come with it?

How bout that skinny dude that is major league athlete with not much pop? You mean if I take this **** in the summer I can jack 20 more homers and cash it in on that lottery check?

Oh man I'm 32, not 22. Everything hurts. I have gotten this game down to a science now but my body is breaking down. Yo I still got 5-6 years in me....that was my goal since day one....you mean to tell me if I take this **** I will heal faster and feel stronger than I did as a kid? Oh yeah and cash in on a final long term deal?

Yo man at times......I wish I had some steriods! I would take that **** just to try and get back to at least the shape I was in @ 22.....I'm only 28 but I got bad knees, legs and feet. Acl reconstruction, plantar fishyblahblah in both feet.....wtf?

Anyway I can sympathize with these athletes. Sheeeet. I wish I took steroids with the football team cuz I probably would be playing basketball overseas right now, lmao.

open your eyes, NFL has performance drug abusers as well, and if you think nba games still aren't rigged(or poorly called so much that the game is in the refs hands and not the players)...well.

At least baseball has taken measures to fix the situation.

Who are you, Bud selig? Baseball is playing catch-up now. That doesn't give them a "Hey at least they're trying' in my book. They only took meaasures so that congress wouldn't.

Unlike the NFL, MLB makes a very big deal out of individual acheivement.

The NFL is 10times more entertaining than baseball anyway.

baseball turning a blind eye to steriods in the 90's (either knowingly or unknowingly) turned out to be a smart fiscal move as the homerun chase of 98 resurrected the game. and even after game of shadows and all that stuff, ratings are higher, attendance is higher, and they are making a ton of money.

ultimately, it's a business and despite the negative PR, their business is booming.

which is why I won't throw myself back in with open arms. these guys played all of us for fools. they turned their sport into some grotesque Gladiator-like spectacle. they engineered a system where you are rewarded for cheating. all to revive the game.

i hear you, but it's not only baseball.

the miami heat winning the title on all those foul calls for dwayne wade was the biggest con in recent history.

I don't see the Miami championship that way. Dallas still could have and should have overcome and won. They choked.

That's fair. Theres certainly a lot of fans who feel and will feel the same way as you and you have every right to feel that way with everything that has gone on. Personally, I don't. Maybe it's my own stupidity? I'm just such a big baseball fan and always will be a huge baseball fan. As much as I like the Knicks, the Yankees are and will always be my favorite sport team and I can't imagine not watching baseball during baseball season, even with everything that has gone on.

When I'm watching baseball, I don't think about the steroids and all that, I think about the count, where the Right Fielder is playing, why is the 3B not playing the bunt and why the manager just put the hit and run on.

I guess it's called selective memory?

yep, Selig & MLB profitted heavily by turning a blind eye to roids in the 90's... now they're persecuting the very players that helped to put the sport back on top in this country for doing the very thing they basically didn't say a damn thing about to do it... being an enabler is almost as bad as doing the drugs yourself... then to stand on top of your soap box after the fact & then cry foul on those who you were enabling to begin with is even more despicable... i have no respect for Bud Selig & his hypocricy.

on ARod, no one really knows if he's clean or not, just like no one knows if Pedro Martinez, Derek Jeter, Curt Schilling, Josh Beckett or anyone else in this game is for that matter... but for argument's sake, say if ARod is clean, then all the records he's destined to break in the coming years will have been even MORE impressive when you consider the fact that he was going up against competition that was juiced on a regular basis.

btw, IMO there isn't a mainstream sport out there that isn't tainted w/competitors using PED's on a regular basis... it happens in almost every Olympic event, Football, Baseball, Hockey, Mixed Martial Arts, Wrestling & i have a good feeling it happens in Tennis also.

I can make the same arguement for Barry Bonds... look he hit 73 homers against pitchers who were juiced. If A-rod hits 75 against non-juiced pitchers, that's not more impressive necessarily.

The #s mean nothing anymore. If you want to follow the game for Ws and Ls and stuff like that... i don't think that much has changed. But the #s don't mean anything anymore.
