As those MLB All-Star ballots roll in, we couldn't help but ponder the mystery: Why do so many fans think Ivan Rodriguez is the best catcher in the NL? Why is Paul Lo Duca not even among the top five vote getters? Obviously, Lo Duca is underrated. And I-Rod is overrated.

But there are a lot of athletes in sports today who are much more overrated than I-Rod. Here are the Top 10 whose reputations most exceed them.




7. Antoine Walker
A friend's e-mail said, simply, "Check out that shooting percentage!" So we did. And, wow. He's the worst shooter in the NBA among players who averaged at least 8 points per game. Lowest field-goal percentage (.388). Unfortunately, only five players in the league put the ball up more. Walker was also among the worst 3-point shooters, which begs the question of why he attempted a whopping 582 3-pointers last season. And here's the topper: Shaq shot better from the charity stripe than Walker.
NY KNICKS 4 EVER! Will we ever find players like Anthony Mason, Xavier McDaniels, Patrick Ewing again? I hope so.

I would trade him for Sprewell and give u 110 dollars aight.Walker would change his game if he came to NY and would be a crowd favorite .

Walker Does not suck, the guy is a very talented player. I do question his shot selection and his dissapearance in the playoffs but he would upgrade the knicks SF position right away.....

Yeah, I'm kind of surprised how much Walker gets dissed around here. If given the choice between KVH and Walker... I'd take Walker... not even close. Walker's an all-star, KVH's a stiff. I agree with tkf and even Playa....

I'm not a big fan of Walker at all. The guy is a chuck his shot has no meaning or purpose behind it. Most of the time he shoots to get a shot up. Add to that a chronic knee problem I would take KVH over Walker. He shoots 38% as a second option he can't be that good. Sorry folks I think he is big time overrated. Forget the numbers just look at his shot selection and it enough to turn any basketball fan off.

we all agree that walker has a questionable shot selection, but what you can't deny is that he is skilled at 6'9, he can dribble, pass and shoot, he has a decent post game and is not afraid to shoot. KVH is not on this guys level, KVH shy's away from the paint, he is a defensive liablilty and the fact that he is a lottery pick and has not shown any of the promise to date tells me that he is what he is.... No way if both KVH and Walker are on the table do I take KVH!!!! NO WAY!!

I think he has an excellent low post game... and if he would use it more and shot less, he'd be even better. The man has tremendous skills.

good point pike, I said decent because he uses the post so little, but the guy is a complete player.. I would take him in a heartbeat...

Walker would be a good addition for Orange and Blue. TK, I don't know if the "Wiggle" degrades his popularity, but knicks used to be one of the ugliest scoring teams around that kinda reminds me of Walker's cold spells during the post season

Now that you heard the nitpicking, Walker's Monroe-Like maneuvers, and die hard attitude should be a nice start in revitalizing the city.

I like the wiggle, he could ACTUALLY take LJ's "BIG L" SHOW place with the wiggle after hitting a big shot or getting a 3 pt play..

Look, Knick fans everywhere have been literally passing out in their seats due to a boring offense and the Knicks general inability to put the ball in the hole. Say what you will about Walkers litlle dance but, it is entertainment and livens the crowd... and MSG needs a heckova lot of that. I agree, Walker would be a crowd favorite in New York.

Please, Walker a crowd favorite. After his first 4-20 game everyone is gonna say what the hell did Layden do. Come on man Walker isn't that good if he shoots less he averages the same percentage and scores less. He shoots 65% from the line. He is a defensive liability. Why would you want this overrated player. Change for change sake isn't good enough.

If you like to show boat, what other venue is better than MSG. Cmon loosen up the tie man even the suits would start to boogie dance if Walker came to NY for "MEWELL"

... I'm with tkf... his shot selection at times has a lot to be desired but, at times, he's unstoppable. A2DA.

p.s. don't know where this Walker coming to N.Y. stuff came from but, I don't see anything happening. Why would Boston want Sprewell with Pierce? So they could be as dysfunctional as the Knicks? So who would we trade to get him? Better put, who would they want? KT and change?

I don't see it.

VMART, these are the same people who think SPREWELL is the 2nd coming of JORDAN !!! TWAN is a chucker !!! KVH is more balanced !!! KVH averaged 17pts 8rebs per game !!! Without taking a lot of stupid shots !!!

I agree with KARNIVORE. Walker will alienate his teammates because he is a ballhog. His shot selection is of the Johnny Newman variety. He should post-up more because he has excellent low post moves. If he cut down his 3pt attempts he would be awesome.

With that, I pick KVH over Walker. KVH is more balanced.
