Didn't see the game last night, watching the DVR tonight. All I want to know is how did Chandler look?

His stat line looks good for the first minutes he's ever gotten.

Led the Knicks in blocks... not that its saying much.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

he looked ok from what I watched- why are you going to put yourself through the misery of watching a tape of this game?

forced it on one possession, I thought, but he probably showed he should be playing over Q & Jefferies. a bit more time, and I think defense will have to guard against him outside, and that is the greatest need on the team.

He looked very tentitive at first but after a few sequences he kinda turned on a switch......it was a rusty switch though. When he touched the ball it seemed like the whole game immediately changed. His jumper is hands down the BEST on the team....next to nate.....which is good but also describes how bad the Knicks are.

Anyway, his defense is strong. He knows how to ride his man and close them off. Salmons was having a career game but there was a drive against Chandler that chandler just rode him to the basket and blocked him at the rim. He was really under control too cuz he didn't foul. Salmons was the aggressor and really trying to take advantage of Chandler but the cool kid handled that play just awesome.

There were plenty of times where he showed a little handle and ability to get anywhere with no prob. Again the sac defenders were trying to rattle the rookie but he was cool and didn't get rattled.

Again he looked rusty and unsure but duh! He hasn't played! But yo.......Chandler needs to start big time and Balkman needs to be the next small fwd off the bench. In the little bit of rusty time Chandler was out there he out played Jared and Q!

Chandler needs to start now for the futures sake.

I listened to the game on the radio/followed the box... the announcers were very impressed and gushed over what he had to offer. He looked to push the pace and seemed hungry... the crowd was starting to get on the team before he subbed in, but got a momentary lit when he came in at the end of the first half.

Now, I think Chandler gets a lot of unjust praise on this board because he only played 32 minutes all season before last night... but, he seems like a decent piece. In fact, I like Lee, Nate, Balkman, Chandler and Rose as the second unit... problem is, no legitimate first team players on this roster.

Our starters are among the worst in the league.

i'm curious why you say that about his jumper... i didn't think it was impressive last night - 3 of 8, some very erratic misses.

definitely good defensive tools, we'll see how he shapes up in the next few seasons.

i was also not particularly impressed with his handle, "ability to get anywhere." that never really crossed my mind watching him play. were there any plays in particular that struck you?

i agree with giving him more minutes (balkman as well), but the kid is really raw, literally anything could happen with his development.

I wasn't paying very close attention, but he played with energy, like you'd expect someone who wanted to prove himself would. But being in that position where he felt he had to do so in very limited minuted he forced a lot. It's really hard to judge someone's poise and decision making under such circumstances. But at least he wasn't just standing around and watching.

He looked uncomfortable, a few of his shots were way off but he made some hustle plays and knocked down a couple baskets. Then again he was playing against an NBDL Sacramento team that was up big. I think Dante Jones was guarding him. I know, I know....."Who is Dante Jones"? He basically played garbage minutes against a very suspect second unit.

I have been saying this for the longest , he's the best sf on the team hands down.

But he has to get reps playing against the leagues star talent so the nerves will go away....His jumper is PUREEEEEEEEEEEE.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

First time I've gotten to see Chandler since summer league.

The first few minutes, he looked very uncomfortable. Whenever he got the ball, he took the shot, sometimes rushing it too much. I can't blame him though, probably wasn't sure when he was going to be seeing minutes ever again.

I was impressed with his defense though. As Eny said, he was able to stay with Salmons pretty well and avoided making any stupid fouls. He seemed to be very tame, especially for a rookie.

He seemed to get into the flow as the game progressed. I wasn't overly impressed with his shot, but there looks like there could be some promise to it. Definately deserving of some consistant minutes.

Chandler is a player that can play both ends of the court. I would take him any day of the week over Stiffy Long Stockings Q. Chandler looked nervous but I think he will be fine if he gets playing time.

I was a little excited in my comments earlier......

I still feel he changed the game for the Knicks everytime he touched the ball. I dunno if it was cuz the Kings didn't know what he could do or that the knicks kinda stopped and did the same......or just my own anticipation.

His jumper doesn't look by accident like Q-rich and Craw. His form and the way his shot looks as it goes in....its just legit. I think if he was playing he would be more on point.

As far as his handle.....again he looked nervous but he showed he could evade and at least control his handle with guys trying to pressure him. Francisco tried to press him, and while trying to feed the post he kept his dribble enough to spin and make a pass back out to marbs with his man all over him.

His body is impressive to me also. He is built kinda big. Like muscular in his shoulders and chest. He runs well but kinda labors a little.

The guy excites me. His defense is great too. He needs his court time. Balkman needs it too......isiah needs to bench Q and Jared forever.

its a good thing one of us isn't coaching the knicks- we'd be starter this guy chandler and we'd probably have like 8 wins on the season.

Its true.
I want to leave something that's going to stand for a long timeI want to leave a legacy,I want to leave tradition.I want to leave an imprint,a blueprint in terms of how people play, and how they coach and how they respond when they put on the Knick uni.

he's still getting used to & learning the SF position... didn't he play mostly PF in college? his jumper still has a ways to develop but he's got a nice shooting form & his handle & footwork is pretty good... he's got the size & athleticism to be a very tough defender once he gets used to playing at this level, & he's a very good rebounder for his size from what i can tell... he should be getting at least 15-20 mpg right now if not more... we have absolutely nothing to lose by having him playing more this year... we're not going anywhere w/Q & Jefferies seeing the lion's share of minutes at the SF spot right now.

He played 2 ways with heart and effort. In other words he was an all star on this team.

I firmly believe Chandler is the best SF on this team, which is not saying much, but still this guy needs to get at least 10 minutes a game.
Trust the Process

do you want isiah to jeopardize a 16 win season just to see if chandler might be our future sf?
what kind of legacy would that leave?
and what kind of message would that send if isiah gave up on the season like his players have? wait, no his players haven't given up on the season, they've given up on him!

God forbid he ruins the great season we're having by playing Chandler & Balkman increased minutes this season... we can't jeopardize our immediate success w/meaningless things like the future.
