I thought that we could do things here and there to possibly change things up but the reality is the whole thing needs to be ripped apart starting with nearly everyone in the front office down to the managers/coaches of the team. Too bad Bill Parcells doesn't like basketball because that is EXACTLY what this team needs. They need a Bill Parcells type of individual who has had tremendous winning success--commands the respect of media/players/coaches/owners who can evaluate and bring in the right talent to create at atmosphere by which you can win.

Isiah Thomas is truly a person with the same kind of character that a Jose Canseco has--an OJ Simpson an Art Schlichter type who would smile and take your wallet or throw you under a bus without taking culpability. It is quite evident that he has spewed/woven his used car mentality into our Napoleon owner head in a major way And Dolan does NOT want to be proven wrong by standing beside IT. His management of this team could easily be called the worst in the history of sport given that he had an open check book on par with the Yankees in baseball[who win no matter what]. The environment on the team--the classlessness he created between the management--the environment[and this is Dolan as well] where these things can happen[Married Marbury throwing a young intern into his car etc..]and whoever knows what else we don't know about. The whole thing is a disgrace and until it is eradicated and rectified I wouldn't worry about trades/drafts any type of player personnel move sin anyway --the environment that is embedded now has to be removed. I won't even comment on the players--after thinking about it---I don't put it on their backs. In any course of business function--when the working environment is tarnished--the morale of workers and the production from those workers is going to be faulty--and that is what we have here==a truly faulty working environment from the Napoleon owner who holds millions of fans hostage on down.

zeke should not be coaching, but maybe dolan either is holding zeke to his untimely coaching selections, or zeke has agreed to some kind of reconciliation.

we surely do not have the "scrubs" layden has graced us with.

I agree briggs, but right now, I have never felt so hopeless as a fan. even as a jets fan, I understand that mangini and tannenbaum Have a plan, plus the jets were a playoff team last year.... so i can see what they are trying to accomplish even in a down year, I see the plan..

The yankees spend money, but they win championships, they win division titles, they win pennants and they have leaders and a plan.

The knicks have no leaders on or off the court, they have no plan, and the owner and GM are hellbent on ruining this franchise just to be proven right... I am at the point of giving up. I have been a knick fan for 30 years and I am really at the point of giving up. If and when the nets move to brooklyn, I will be watching them for sure... especially if this situation does not get better..

I am finally inclined to agree. I've been hoping against hope but now feel like i'm in a abusive relationship with the my Knickerbocker husband & i'm tired of gettin my ass beat...enough is enough!!! I'm puttin their **** out on the metaphorical curb & lookin for a new man (wait, I know this is starting to sound a little gay since i'm a dude but I didnt know how to stop the realtionship jokes once they got rolling. As Gus Johnson would say "Pause...No Homo")

P.S. - I also recognize that Isles has been preaching this "Burn it all down" idea for some time but I couldnt bring myself to agree until Briggs or someone else who's opinion I actually respect brought the idea to the table. Sorry but thats as close as i can come to an apology to the Hockey fan.

I've been saying this for years... I'm glad that everyone is on the "level the whole organization, then rebuild" bandwagon. Honestly, trying to save aspects of this team is akin to adding a millionaire wing to a rotting house where crackheads and heroine addicts squat.

That's not even close to an apology. That's pretty much an insult.

Good point by V Desai. LB was the equivalent of Parcells. Sometimes the headstrong, my way or the highway GM/coach doesn't work. Especially in basketball where contracts are guaranteed! It is a player's league. Jerry West is a possibility or getting Rod Thorn to leave NJ. Donnie Walsh is another.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

Amen, BRIGGS.
The whole management/ownership needs to change before we can talk about team ball.
Though we had LB who arguably was one of the best coaches in the history of basketball, he could not work at the dumpster that MSG has turned into since Dolan Jr. took over.
This franchise needs a full overhaul.

before we go annointing LB as some parcells type, let's just remember that he basically got run out of detroit, never stayed more than a few years anywhere, and only won one championship against a laker team that should have won were it not for the kobe-shaq thing.

and while he coached, he never gm'd, and supposedly- this hasn't been refuted- he was the one who wanted francis and jalen rose.

even if that was foisted on him by isiah and dolan, he has yet to build a winner.

would I mind it if he were brought in to do that? absolutely not.

To be fair he had a ton of say in Philly when he coached there and he built a team fitting to Iverson for there finals run.

Nate Mcmillian(Spell) is the person I would want though. He has a ton of say in portland. Im sure he had a lot of say in drafting Aldridge & Roy which have been money. He demands team play & effort, gets the most out of the players that want it as was seen in Seattle and now Portland. Unloads the players that don't. The best thing about him is he isn't a diva. I don't think he is anyway.

His situation in Portland is to good though so I don't see him stepping away from that. Maybe when his contract runs out we could give him an offer he can't refuse..

Nalod said 4 years ago: "Corporate dysfunction" would yield little results and the rotting head will decompose the torso in time.

The inclusion of LB was wasted as there was no motivation to change what ailed the team. LB was dead on correct in his public rants and his behind the scenes dealing.

Isiah was the Starphuch of all managerial starphuchs. Isles might not have been eloquent in his manner but he has proven to be the best hater of us all.

I think one must remove Mills and start right there. He becomes the face of MSG and let Dolan just move aside and collect the credit as one who learned to delegate. The way out of his is to not disgrace Dolan but find a way he can save face. With some reasonable intelligence and an open checkbook we can create a freaking destiny.

Dolan was actually on the right track with Layden on only having high character guys on the team. Even at his worst Dice had a work ethic and high character who needed no motivation. We all know the trade did not work but Camby was a mess here and NENE has not proven himself that much either. It was a gamble, we lost, get over it. Thats all old history and while Layden might have sucked, the ISiah era is epic and we have gone BACKWARDS big time.

Blow it up, but gotta have a plan and be able to sell it.

Portland wrote the book on this. Rid the trash and get high character rooks. Bringing in role players like Frye was a great trade cuz despite his warts on the knicks he is serviceable and a high character kid.

on a low scum team like ours, good kids get ruined quick. Bynum would have been a disaster on this team and would have been traded by now.

give Isiah his money and lets move on!!!!!!!! Give Marbury his money and lets move on!!!!

very well said.. I never thought I would be yearning the layden years but I am at that point. One thing you mentioned, as much as we didn't like laydens teams, and it was basically because guys like anderson and eisley were vastly overpaid, those guys played, they were high character guys, and they never cheated the fans with a lackluster effort. If they lost, they lost on lack of talent.. not effort.. what we have here is a full blown mess, chyrnobyl, three mile island, Mount saint helens, Hiroshima, I mean how much worse can it get? As you said, Isiah needs to go, marbury needs to go. Figure out what the hell to do with Isiah's misfits, guys like curry, randolph and the rest... get a Real basketball guy in here, a guy with morals and integrity, and set the fans free from this bondage of horrific basketball and front office folly!!
