You have to figure, if you pick your team to win a championship directly after each win, eventually you'll be right... unless you're a Cubs fan.

That's right! Not every team can win 2 out of 3. Take the Vancouver Grizzlies in their first season, as an example.

This is the worst franchise of all-time. We have loser fans celebrating 8th seed as if this will do anything. If they make the playoffs, Isiah survives forever, the Knicks remain the same listeless crappy team, and nothing happens for another 5 years till Isiah is fired. Celebrate mediocrity. It's awesome.

I think, at this point, it's pretty clear that fans are fed up with the #8 seed as the 'goal' or a measure of 'performing well'.

But we'll just have to wait and see I guess. Sadly, Dolan is like Fred Wilpon. If you just make it interesting and sell out, all is good. It's disgusting, it's like he has no soul.

I know, right Greek? I don't understand how there's still a few fans who get sucked back in over one game. A single game. Suddenly they feel like all the losing is in the past and we've turned some great corner and are now an elite team (Of which we'd have to be to overcome this 9 games under .500 record - we'd have to play at damn near .600 the rest of the season!)

Anyways...

I noticed a couple of things last night.


* The Cavs played no defense.
* Q and Crawford shot very well.
* Lee seemed in the flow for the first time in a long time. Great box score.
* Nate Robinson played finally.
* Curry got sat early and often, Marbury did not play.

I think that's it right there. A few players who haven't hit the side of a barn in recent games suddenly found the mark. A few players that stink did not play. A spark plug in Nate finally played. Cavs sucked on defense.

I don't think it's any great miracle nor do I think it's a sign of anything to come.

Again, through the past 7+ years of losing at any given time you can find a week where the team played well and looked good but they never sustain it.

Until they sustain that kind of energy and game plan through at the very least an entire month - there's nothing to talk about.

I'm not getting overly excited over one win, but aside from a bad 4th qtr. the team has been playing a bit better. It's not like we all didn't think the team was capable of winning any games, so why is this such a bad thing? What we learn from this team winning games like last night is that there is enough talent to work with on this team. We all knew that this team wasn't perfect and still needs players. At some point I would like to see the players on this team get better and play up to their potential. At this point trade value is very important. If you all have any desire to see this team get rid of players and pick up draft picks, this team has to win some games.

Just don't expect a total rebuild. I don't believe Dolan will ever go for such a plan. He's just not interested in a 3-4 year rebuilding plan. He'd be more in favor of more trades and you all know it. He'd give the OK for that long before he'd ever give the OK for a total rebuild. SO we need to stop dreaming that it's a possibility, cuz it ain't gonna happen!

nix, i have 100% given up on the isiah thomas regime. as bill murray so eloquently chanted in meatballs, "it just doesn’t matter." whatever he does with this team will not work out, and is just perpetual trade-ins of one model of fool’s gold for another. i'll watch out of a corner of my eye because i retain interest and because i like the camaraderie of interacting with the guys on this board, but this team has totally blown their load of credibility and will not earn any other attitude till isiah has been replaced. then the new gm will automatically get a chance and receive a fair shake of potential optimism, at least from me.
