i believe Kaman Bosh and Pavel are gone by 9. I dont know if Lampe is what the Knicks want by my math says he's gone 2. i think the likely character to fall will be tj ford. now tj ford has a superior talent--what do the knicks do if the draft goes like this?

9?best available talents---TJ Ford Mike Sweetney. What would someone give us for TJ Ford? Although Id like to see it,I dont think cleveland will do a ricky davis for pick 9 and either knight or ward. Even with the addition of pavel,i still think the only size worth taking there is sweetney--i have absolutely NO problem with that because he is probably the most ready player in the draft. But will the Knicks take him? Will they leave a guy like TJ ford on the board? The only other possibilities are trading up and the only rationale deal i see is KT and pick 9 to Toronto for pick 9 and JYD[a contract they want gone]. I dont think the trade market is going to be deep--teams right behind us know we may not take Ford and could gamble on his drop-same with sweetney--? Do the Knicks just take Ford here as the BPA? It's not everyday you get the opportunity to grab a PG like that. Do they take Sweetney? i dont think the knicks will. after that everything is reaching wildly. Is Pietrus that good???? he didnt even average 10 points on his own team in france.

Question is, who would need Ford? And would they have anything we want?

Knicks just have to take the best player available whether it's TJ Ford, TJ Hooker, or TJ Kidd.


Knicks need to stop signing people and just draft wisely. No trades please!!! I was a supporter of the McDyess trade but since the guy hasn't played all he does for the Knicks is dump cap.

Imagine....we could of had Nene Hilario as the center for the future. Now we gotta settle on picking up scraps this year with the 9th pick.

I wrote about that senario while back I kind of felt TJ Ford was overrated. Here is what the Knicks do. Trade down. Trade Spree, KT and the 9th to Portland for Wallace, Woods and 23rd. With the 23rd and 30th package it to Orlando and pick Bedaine. This give the Knicks a solid front court. With the remaining picks take Walton and if they do get Houston's pick take Slavko Vranes if he is on the board take him or the best available player available. You walk out of this draft with three promising rookies and a Veteran in Wallace who can give them a post presence they have been lacking. Woods I wanted last year he has potential to be a solid player in the league. Another trade I would explore would be try and trade for Brandon and his expiring contract send Eisley, Williams and othella to the T-Wolves for Brandon he comes of the books and creates a spot for Vujanic to come over.

There is no possibility that the Blazers are trading Raweed for Sprewell NONE ZIP NADA. They just did a whole publcity and marketing theme on how they were going to methodically change the image of the team and have more fiscal responsibility. Raweed is making 18,000,000 next year,i thought it was 16 but i was wrong--but it is an ending contract. the only way the knicks could ever trade with Portaldn for wallace is by using mcdyess-taking sprewellis like lying to your fans--so the only way to get a wallace even if he was available would be giving up cdyess. and i dont think the knicksare doing it--and right now that 9 pick doesnt lok great unless you are relly looking at tj ford. that is probablythe guy who falls in this draft. if their trading wallace it will be for pick 4. thats a whole different ballof wax.

First of all - Vmart - I like your ideas but when is the last time you saw a team make that many active changes in an off season? Let alone a team run by 2 losers like Layden and Dolan.

Second, I agree Portland isnt getting rid of Rasheed, especially for sub par talent. They can get more for him even though his rep is bad, the guy is a legitimate player in the WEST so he has a lot of value.

If the Knicks cant get a big I say take the best talent available and try to trade away some of our old talent or overpaid talent. Keep the young ones.

I understand that Raptors covet Wallace. The Knicks have to make moves for this guy because he simply is the best post palyer thats out on the market he has been for some time. The Knicks would be wise to pull this trade off make it worth Portlands time and throw in future considerations. Spree rep is bad but its not as bad as Wallace and that is one thing other teams are afraid of with Wallace is his rep. The knicks have been known to take players like Wallace under their wings. Spree has value the real value is the 9th pick. I understand that Balzers want the 4th pick it might be a way for the Blazers to get to Pavel. Using the NYK 9th. Blazers can make an offer to Toranto using the 9th, Anderson and NYK future considerations. This way they get a player to play the sg (anderson) and they will get T.J.Ford at the 9th who they have been high on after Pavel and not to forget the future considerations that the Knicks would give to Blazers who turn it over to Raptors.

I don't know if Layden can make it work but he has to try because if they walk out of this draft with out adding size they are right back into the lottery next year. The lack of height has been their down fall ever since Ewing left. They have to do something about it.

Next you would have to sign him to big money and hes going to be 30next year. Garnett yes Nowitski absolutely--this guy isnt in their league. there is no way the knicks can spend 14-15 mm a year on wallace--he isnt worth it hes overrated.

He is worth the money. The thing with Wallace is he plays to the Blazers system to a fualt. If you tell him your the main man he will step up and take the majority of the shots. As for matching his salary that is the easy part. As KT and Spree match his salary. They may have to add Woods to get it within the needs of the constraints of the deal. But that is the easy part. I would give Wallace a 14 million contract after his contract runs out. This guy is simply worth it. He has bad habits but it is something the NYK organization can work on.

For the love of christs and everything sacred, I don't understand why I keep hearing trade the pick for Ricky Davis.. What in the hell do we need Ricky Davis for? and why do we want to add another SG to the mix, when we can't get rid of the ones we have now!!!

Please stop with the trades for Ricky Davis..please...

And their reasoning is that Ricky Davis is a better Rebounder... Like his 1 rebound more per game is going to put us over the top..(rolling eyes) Some people never get it....

I dont usually post regarding possible trades but assuming TJ Ford drops to the Knicks at 9. NY trades the 9th and 31st to Seattle for the 12th and 14th and sends Ward (as a mentor) for James and Radomonovic. NY picks up size and youth, Seattle gets their pg of the future and the present.
