If Luke slips like Boozer all the way down to the 2nd round (which I seriously doubt), then the Knicks must pick him at #30!!! Forget the point forward stuff. The NBA is filled with big guys that can handle the ball. Get Luke at #30 if he falls. Or trade up using the 3 2nd rounder we have.

Somebody gonna come out of the sec rd and make gm's mad that they didn't take them earlier in the 1st. Chicago camp gave some guys a new lease on life. LUKE WALTON's of the world!
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Walton has good all around skills that can't be passed on. this guy might be the type of player that gives a team 12 points 8 rebounds and 8 assists. His court awareness is that of a point guard. He might be the most ready player coming out of college to do well in the NBA.

I am with you Vmart - I want to see Walton in an NY uniform (second round pick permitting) and I want to see Chaney play the rookies we get.

I was just busting....I would take Luke with the 39 pick, and you can probably bet he will be around there.

He's the kind of player that Chaney would love...he's a GREAT passer, ok defender, but works on boards, good shooter, etc.

If the planets align I would like to see Kaman fall to #9, Brian Cook at #30 and Luke Walton at #39.

Your right. I would rather have him as a water boy than Knight. I'll give the the player that Walton will play like in the NBA give me your though on that. Detlef Shremph. Maybe not as athletic.

Chris Mullin was a dead eye shooter. I don't think walton could ever match Mullins shooting stroke.

true...but Walton is a more versatile offensive player...both with the passing and creating off the dribble. He's a great player in the high post.

I dunno if this is a knock or what....

Detlef Schremp was a good player. He was ahead of his time as far as playing the 3 at his height. If you think Luke is as good as Detlef then Luke should be a lottery pick. Detlef had a very solid career around 17pts, 7rebs, 3 assists with a great shooting touch.

Anywho....I still think Luke is a guy the Knicks must put on their list and snatch him if he falls to #30.

I like Walton alot... he's a legit 6'9, can shoot from the outside, and was the best passing college big man I've seen in awhile. If your sitting at #30 or #38, you have to consider him. He will be a role player... but will definitely make an NBA team and be ready to contribute. Some guys I would want over him at the same point in the draft are Josh Howard and Moe Williams.

I like Walton because he is a smart player. The Knicks never really had player in the past with high basketball I.Q. adding Walton would be a big plus.

Luke who?

I'm not sure if you meant it... but that was the exact same thing fans shouted over and over after the Giants drafted Luke Petitgout in '99 (this after the giants passed up aaron gibson).

I'd like to get Walton in the second round, but i wouldnt trade up for him!
There will be many players in the second round due to the euro-influx that will be good pick ups and we have three early sec. rd picks so cheer up!
Oh damn i forgot, Layden is picking!
