Here's what I don't get, Holfresh and Nixluva: If you supported like 90% of Isiah's decisions, why would you want him fired? You're taking a big gamble here. How do you know he won't be replaced by a GM who makes moves you dislike rather than ones you invariably like? And shouldn't Isiah be given more than 19 games (not even one-fourth of one season) to get his players to mesh? He has to learn how to incorporate the 20/10 stud we just stole from Portland into the offense.

Bro, are u on drugs, 19 games. We've given the fool 4 yrs already@! thats far then enough. I recall in the past, if they're aren't positive results within 2 yrs, you're gone especially in NY.

The margin or error is very slim here!

I'm playing devil's advocate. I don't understand why people who supported Isiah so strongly--and really lashed out at us "haters" for criticizing Isiah--are now taking the exact same position that they criticized us "haters" for taking just 2 months ago. If they believed so strongly in what Isiah was doing, you wouldn't expect them to change course after 19 games.

I was willing to give Isiah 2 full seasons. That's different from waiting over 4 years and calling people absurd names when they disagreed with you like Nixluva, holfressh, and babyknicks do. Don't you remember how emotionally outraged Nixluva would get if we disagreed with his 46 win projection? I actually said quite humble things when I came to my realization. Here's one quote: "I think Islesfan, fish, and others got everything right before many of us, definitely before me."

My loyalty hasn't been to any one player or coach, but to the team. That's been my position and I haven't changed. Arguing in favor of what someone has done up to a certain point doesn't mean undying devotion forever. That's just something people want to put on those of us who have been more supportive of the team. As if you can't change your mind ever. Here's the difference between us. I never root against the team. I only want to see the team succeed and if there's a coach or GM or player I don't like, i'll say so, but that doesn't mean I want to see the team fail just so I could get rid of that person. It's talk like that which get's a reponse from so called lovers, not any deep loyalty to Isiah or Steph per se.

I said many times that I like to take assessment after a 1/4 of a season and basically look at things every 20 games or so. I like many of the players he's brought in, but i've NEVER said that he was a great GM, only that he drafted very well and that with the talent he's put together this team should be able to win more than half of it's games. It's not like anyone here has ever said that this is a title contender or a high playoff seed. Most would say at best 6-8 spot in the playoffs in the East. It's no secret that the roster is flawed. However, it should still be possible to win games with this roster. Still we all know that this team needs more improvement. This is why we keep looking for the eventual replacement for Steph and Q etc.

My problem with Isiah this year is that he's looked totally lost in terms of how he wants to use the players he's brought in. He's given very uneven treatment to players as well. Q plays too much and Lee too little. Zach stays on the floor when he's playing like crap and he takes Curry out. I don't know why he's gone completely away from the principles of his offense, when those are the kinds of things that make for great offense. When you have effective post up and penetration, there should never be a game when you can't score 90+ points. Steph used to be a great pick and roll/pop player and we should be able to do that like we did with KT using Zach. You never see it. Isiah made a mistake this offseason in not making sure we had enough perimeter shooting to keep the floor open for his post players. I was hopeful that Q and Jamal would be able to give us a reasonable level of outside shooting. Not all time low shooting % like Q has had or even more inconsistent shooting from Jamal than he's had in his career.

To be fair the team has had some very unfortunate issues with death in the family, but at some point you have to see some evidence of good coaching even with your replacement players. I haven't seen enough of that.

Hey nix, sorry that this franchise has sunk SO low to bring even your positive outlook on this team low. Seriously, this is a sad day for all of us. I never thought I would see the day. You are human, after all.

I don't remember who it was but there was someone here who used to use the mantra: "Change starts at the top." Say it again, brother!!

Interesting that the Knicks will ONCE AGAIN underperform even the most PESSIMISTIC hater's prediction for wins this year. Leads me to conclude that there are NO HATERS here. The proof is in the pudding, we're all homers. We have ALL, each and EVERY ONE OF US, been overly optimistic in our expectations. Weird, huh?

Fair enough.
But I can see a big difference in how we approaching the players, GM, coach, and the organization.
You always evaluate them based on potential and the best possible scenario.
We "haters" are evaluating based on how they did in the past, how they looks now, and on potentially worst or average scenario.
If players were losers they most likely will be losers forever.
Same goes to the coach and GM. If he was loser in his previous jobs we assume he will be a loser forever.
If organization sucks for years and years under this ownership, it will forever suck, until they will sell the thing or will be forced to change their ways.
When Knicks organization was great, players were working hard and had desire to win, coach and GM did good job, and MSG was The Mecca Of Basketball we was the biggest "lovers" in NBA. And the only hope we have - this will be possible again someday.

nothing wrong with changing your mind as long as you man up when you figure out you were wrong in the first place... learning from your past mistakes, something i really wish this damn franchise would put into practice for a change.

This is what I don't get about you guys...How did you know Isiah was so wrong...What tipped it off for you guys...The guy didn't even have a chance to be wrong...As a fan, how do you not root for your team to win...

I think everyone gets a clean slate when they get here and I give them time to prove me wrong...How does it work for you guys?...

the way things have been going should'nt isiah fire himself from the coaching duties and lay that in the hands of someone else, Herb maybe? dunno what good that will do but this team needs some sort of change.

I'm gettin tired of the same lifeless basketball i've been watching the last few games.

Insert the young'ins i say, i'd rather watch chandler try to stuff it down on someone than watch eddy helplessly watch another rebound get snatched away without puttin any kind of effort into it.. !

i gave him 3 years w/a clean slate to get something done... he proved to me over that time he didn't have a plan... i wasn't always as pessimistic about the guy as i am now... ask isles, we used to get into it back on the MSG forums because i got on his case for not giving the guy a chance... like i said, man up & learn from the past... i guess Isiah hasn't gotten that memo.

When you bring in the types of players Isiah brought in, you knew it wasn't going to work.

And who was right about the team? Those of us who criticized or those of us who obnoxiously labeled the critics as "haters" or "moaners"? It's okay to admit you were wrong and the people you were very obnoxious toward were right.
